Hello Yall,

I know you are all very knowledgeable on the platform and I would appreciate any advice I can get. About a year and a half ago I bought a 2006 Xfire with 112 xxx miles on it. The guy had not taken care of the car at all and had let it sit for about a year. When I got it, the left motor mount was bad so we pulled it out and fixed it. Also did the typical oil change and everything was fine. However, I have encountered the problem of the RCM broken Sauter pins and had to clean out the Relays on the card. I am also getting stuck in “Limp Home Mode” where the car would not shift out of 1st gear. The code that is being thrown is P0715. This code has been a pain in my rear and I have not been able to solve it, granted, I haven’t changed out the conductor plate seeing as I don’t know if it is actually bad or whether the relays have been causing the problem. The car is also crapping out batteries, I have gone through two of them even though I turn it on every week. I know I might be bashed for being a “bad” car owner but I am new to the Xfire world and would really appreciate any help, thanks yall!

First I would replace the RCM or send it to DJ Tighe for a rebuild. The relays need to be replaced. Second I would unplug and or replace the alarm siren under the cowl in front of the windshield. The internal batteries leak acid as they age, short out the electronics and cause a drain on your car battery.

We were able to fix the RCM, my pops is an Electrical Engineer so he was able to fix the broken points. However I did not know about the alarm siren, I have never heard it before.
