New member, love the Crossfire and finally can buy one
Hi, I don't own a Crossfire yet but I am a big MOPAR fan (my family only owns MOPAR, with two Dodges, two Jeeps and one Chrysler (my 300 SRT8). I wanted to get the Crossfire when it came out but back then we had 4 little children and so we had to settle on a Chrysler T&C mini-van at that time (a fine and reliable vehicle). Now my kids are now grown and I am thinking of getting a Crossfire for my wife, either a 6 speed manual NA or an SRT6. I will be looking at the for sale forum but I am patient. This looks like a great community! Thanks!

There are a LOT of cars for sale. Since you are considering buying, I have some advice.
1) If you find one at a low price on a "buy here, pay here" lot - RUN from it. jjj
2) If you find one at a REALLY low price on a "buy here, pay here" lot - RUN VERY FAR and FAST from it. kkk
3) If you find one at a new car dealer, you will overpay but there are good chances it'll be a good car, once you deal with the issue(s) that made the seller sell. (Examples: It's too small, it has no back seat, it's too cool and fun, or it costs way too much to maintain.) That last one usually comes from people who take the car to a garage or dealer for every little thing. kkk
4) If you find one for sale by a forum member (or Crossfire-Facebook-Page member), you will probably make the best buy of them all. (If the car or it's owner has been a problem, the rest of us will know about it.) 888
5) If you are willing to buy a one-way plane ticket to go get the RIGHT car, you will almost certainly get the RIGHT car. (Forum and Facebook members will check the car out for you, it's a system I've used to find my last two Crossfires.)

Excellent, thank for your good advice! All good points. Totally agree that buying through a listing on a forum or Facebook is the way to go. I found and bought my 300 SRT8 that way (and bought a one-way plane ticket to pick it up). Also agree on your sentiments about Chrysler dealers for service. They combine incompetence with being outrageously expensive.

Great advise from the pizzaguy - I flew up to Portland Oct ‘21 and bought a ‘04 coupe with 11.5k miles from a gentleman who collects cars. Hank (previous owner) said that the XF was in a barn with other cars. Well, turned out to be a temperature controlled “barn” with an amazing car collection. I think my XF was the cheapest car there! Hope you find a great one and looking forward welcoming as as an owner. Cheers.
