To understand an SE, you must understand the Base model.
Base coupes and Roadsters were all black inside and out, there was no "satin trim" (door handles, side stakes, windshield trim). They had manual, cloth seats; no fog/driving lights, no tire pressure monitor, no garage door opener, no cabin air filter (you can simply add one), no audio amp or rear speakers, a black air intake (instead of "satin"). Base models also had only a six speed manual and no chrome "Crossfire" door trim (you can only see when you open the door).
The SE is an odd car, 852 (or so) were built. It's a Base Roadster with cool wheels, satin side stakes and door handles and red paint, its the only Base that had an optional automatic. As Ded said, the wheels are "SRT type" but with Graphite paint between spokes and in behind, a nice touch that SRTs didn't get.
I find that the SE is a real head-turner, not that all other Crossfires aren't.
