Default New to the crossfire scene

Hey guys my name is Josh I'm new to the crossfire scene I actually hadn't heard of these cars before and I'm on Mopar guy I just found this 1 on Marketplace I got it it for what I think was a pretty good deal I paid $1,700 for it and I must say I fell in love right away the first time I heard this thing start up with the custom exhaust interior is pretty rough which I didn't think would be too expensive or bad to fix however I'm finding that it's pretty expensive to fix anything on one of these cars and I bought this as my daily driver it's not very practical and it doesn't have good reliability from what I read in these forms however I still love my crossfire I'm addicted and going to keep building and growing on this car and had very little rust I did a quick patch on the little stuff that was wrong on the outside but I do have a lot of questions about it because I have some things that are going on that I have no idea I'm sure there's forms for each section with anyone knows anything about why or how all my dash lights go off and on all my lights are on on my Dash my oil pressure water gauge all of it check engine oil my headlights on bright do not work at all and my seats do not work my passenger window does not work as well if there's anyone that can help that would be willing to take the time and talk me through this that would be amazing thank you all have a great day I'm proud to be part of the crossfire

Welcome aboard! I'm going to list links containing valuable Crossfire information making it easier to find answers to many issues.
Both links are quite comprehensive so allow them to load.
https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...w-members.html

Many of the forums will lead to other related forums, it can become quite a research project but members here are extremely helpful.

Congrats on your Crossfire!
Don't let the forum make you think that these cars aren't reliable. You have to remember the forum is here to help owners that are having problems. So that's mostly what you're going to see posted.
But there are also plenty of great stories on here as well.

WELCOME, pretty much everything except the body and interior is 2004 Mercedes SLK 320. Mechanically it is not Mopar and parts are readily available.

Congrats and welcome to the forum!

Mechanically, the Crossfire is one of the last great reliable Mercedes, with only minor problems, and well documented (like the crankshaft position sensor, I always carry a spare.)

From your front plate it looks like you're a Minnesotan or bought the car in Minnesota. There's less of us up in this neck of the woods, but give us a little background info and we'll help best we can. First suggestion I will give about all the light issues is don't rule out a bad headlight switch. That was one of the first things I had to replace on my car when I got it. Otherwise, a good overview of fuses (check for blown fuses) and electrical connections (check for loose terminals/wires) should help you start to figure out the problems. There are plenty of resources on this forum too, so start one problem at a time and do some digging, someone else has probably already dealt with it and wrote about it here.

hello I'm 41 years old I live in Minneapolis Minnesota right now I grew up in the woods and Lake of the Woods Minnesota I'm fairly handy with cars if I don't know I think you should figure it out unless it's wiring which is kind of what I'm running into now and that I suck

Unplug the alarm siren under the cowl in front of the windshield, they short out with age.

It's good you are handy with cars ... if you find something you're not comfortably with DO NOT take it to a Chrysler or Mercedes dealership, they will be of no help ... find an independent Mercedes repair shop instead ... most of the things you will come across you should be able to handle with no problems ... a lot of help here and you tube ... download the service manual from this forum also ... best of luck and enjoy your Crossfire

I know that you have a coupe but the first page of my thread has a lot of links on the bottom that you might find useful. There posts that I did like the Illumination Control Module that I gave you the link for.
Here's the link for the first page: My journey with my 2006 roadster
Good luck!
John
