And yes my target was to pick a weekend when nothing was scheduled, so we have the place to ourselves.

My game plan is to see how many folks are attending and from where (tally as of 8TH) and set a place to meet that will handle us and is easily reached by all.
Any other confirmations after the 8th will just have to join the existing meet point.
Come on folks this is going to be a nice liesure drive to a great spot on the East Coast!!

 

This is the kind of FUN we have been having on our runs into the Shenandoah Mountains and this will give you an idea of what we are going to do towards the ocean.

I was a little worried my girlfriend wouldn't want to come, but she seemed into it.

So anyway Redcross, I'm wondering what the basic agenda is going to be. I don't mean any specific times.. but... are we going to meet early in the day..noon.. afternoon... night..? Does anyone plan on staying over somewhere? Are there any sweet roads to drive near there? The mountain run looks like a ton of fun.. are we going to drive down the Maryland coast like was mentioned?

I'm just trying to get a clearer picture of what's on the agenda. Maybe we can meet up, do lunch at the boardwalk, drive down the shore, eat dinner somewhere and then split up?

 

Since all folks are NOT in the neighborhood and will have driven many miles to start............
I'm sure some folks may leave the night before and stay close by.
I figured we would meet @ 8AM at the Bob Evans Restaurant South of the intersection of 50/301 East of DC.
Depart for OC at 9AM via 50/301, South on 50 through Easton and pickup HobbymanBill.
ContinueSouth on 50 to Cambridge, then SouthEast to Salisbury and the East to OC.
We will arrive in OC @ midday+/-.
Cruize the Boardwalk (on foot), do some Fries.
Then head North up Route 1 to Rehoboth Beach, DE and to Milford.
Route 113 on to Dover.
Route 13 NorthEast to Middletown.
Have dinner late afternoon/evening somewhere............Play by ear!!!!
At this point NJ, NY and PA folks can go North on 301.
VA,WVA and MD can go south on 301
And all others can take the best angle towards home.
I realize that some may want to spend Saturday night and drive home Sunday so where ever your desires take you there will be a Hotel/Motel Vacancy, since it's now "Off Season".
This IS a driving event so DON'T FORGET YOUR FRS RADIO!!!!!!!! Channel 10 Code 10. This is the Crossfire International/VIPER Frequency setting.
We will alway be open to modifications and periodic stops for "STUFF" and of course, Pit Stops.

 

Well dang -- Wish we could go Y'all have fun! We drew the short straw this year to plan/host the annual dinner meeting of the So. Maryland Christmas Tree Growers and guess what day it is...

A word of advice to anyone who is joining the group for the first time -- don't get behind Redcross unless Momma is driving ... :P

Anyone in New Jersey want to meet up for the ride? I was thinking about doing the Cape May ferry because it puts you just north of Ocean City and will save a bunch of time.. I'm in north Jersey... It's only $20 each way. The only thing I'm concerned about is time.. It leaves at 11am and gets to Delaware at 12:20, then theres another hour to Ocean City.. ugh.. Maybe we'll have to drive around after all.. or head to Atlantic City on Friday night and then try and catch the 730 ferry, get to DE around 9, be in OC at 10.. Damn thats too early. I'll figure something out. Well if we stop for breakfast in DE for an hour, we can be in OC by 11.. Still that means we'd somehow have to be in Cape May by 7am to checkin.. the ferry needs reservations. Whatever, if anyonese interested let me know, otherwise I'll figure it out for myself.

 

I am in Fair Lawn. That sounds good. Let me know when and where to meet.

 

Bad news. I just found out the we have something already planned for Saturday. Don't think we'll be able to make it now. We were so looking forward to our first cruise with other XFire owners! Next time for sure!

It would be nice to have us ALL cruizin down the highway, but if it's more convient for you folks to come down from the North via the Ferry, then so be it. Just MAKE THE TRIP!!!!!!!!
There will just be more than one convoy, that's all.
MAIN THING is to gather ALL of us in Ocean City at the Parking Lot on the South End of the Boardwalk.
