Believe it or not, we are only TWO WEEKS away from our drive! I'm still in denial that Fall is here...so it will be nice to squeeze in one more road trip! It may be a wet and windy road trip...but as Rose pointed out, those of you that have roadsters and have to put your tops up will have more room for packages and shopping!

I hope you all have made your plans and called to book your motel rooms. This is a reminder that if you have NOT called to reserve your rooms yet...the deadline is tomorrow!!!! After tomorrow September 27th both motels will release the rooms and you are on your own to find a place to stay! I called last night and found only 7 had made reservations for the first night and 3 for the second?? so hopefully those of you unaccounted for have made other arrangements. Also posted is the original notice regarding where we are staying and how to book your room if you need one...or two! TOMORROW IS YOUR LAST CHANCE! So....DO IT! And don't come crying to bloo if you don't have a room!

Last I checked we have 9 that have committed to coming and about 3-4 maybes. Those are the ones I know of...and there are always those surprise owners that decide at the last minute to show up... which is always great!

Since Phill is in charge of this drive and I was only asked to help with motel information...my task is complete! Phill is in the process of finalizing the plans and check points...if any of you have requests he said to email him @ phllmtchll@yahoo.com FYI - Tillamook cheese and the jerky place are already on the list.

I have a block of 10 rooms set aside for our group at Super8. The rooms reserved are with 2 queen beds for $92.65. If you prefer a singlequeen for $84.15 you can request it when you call and make the reservation, ifone is available you should be able to get it. But the ones on hold aredoubles. I also never inquired about ocean view or not, I just blocked therooms. You will have to ask when you make the call to book your room. I’ve put the website link above for you. Theyhave a continental breakfast included...etc…check it out. The rates they haveus at don’t seem to be any special “group” rate like the motel on Saturdaynight gave us. But I liked the central downtown location, close to the beachand boardwalk, large vehicle parking they offer hoping we can park there, andthey are next door to a free museum that has “Jake the alligator man”!!


Call 1-877-361-2508 (this is abooking number, not the direct motel) tell them your group is NWCC and confirmation# 98317880 and give them your credit cardnumber to guarantee the room. I also have 10 rooms blocked at this motel for Saturdaynight. I have 8 rooms with 2 beds for $65.00 and 2 rooms with one bed for$55.00. They at least gave us a group rate which is nice. It looks like it iseasy on and off the highway, close to the ocean, has the continental breakfast,and the large vehicle parking.

We are trying to plan our caravan to Long Beach on Friday day...so far we have Rose & husband leaving BC (any other BC folks??) and meeting Linda up in Bellingham around 8-9 ish...if there is no one interested in meeting them in between...(Snoqualmie? Carnation? Bellevue? Seattle? Renton? Crossfire people???) they will be here in South Sound/Puyallup/Sumer area around 11-12 to pick me up..(Pacific? Eatonville?? Crossfire people??) we will take off and head down I-5 and meet Paul in the Elma/Rochester area...and from there depending on who else wants to join in (Battleground? St Helens? Portland? Salem? ) will determine which way we will go to Long Beach...wide open to suggestions...and if you want to squeeze yourself in meeting us all along the way somewhere...let us know so we know which route to go! Times and locations will be finalized once we know who else want to join in!!

 

I'll have to meet everyone in Long Beach. Would we meet up at the hotel first and do a dinner, or should I just grab something along the way?

I think we can plan on meeting for dinner...depending on who is there and when lol! There will be 5 of us coming down I-5 and should be in the Longview area around 2-3pm...not sure how long it takes to get to Long Beach from there...looking forward to seeing you there! Hey frogwash, welcome to the neighborhood! Laurie and I are just north of you in Lake Stevens now. Perhaps some time this fall we might GTG for a visit or a cruise. Have fun everyone, sorry we couldn't make this trip.

 

This was a great ride and I enjoyed meeting 8 other Crossfire owners! Thanks a lot Phil & Bloo for setting it up. Lots of great drives thru towns, beaches, food and airplanes. I'll put photos up later on.

 

Thanks 05Roadsterguy! I will try and keep my eye open here to see when the next event is and where. We are in the Snohomish area (unincorporated) but wouldn't mind meeting others with XFires. Maybe we can meet some evening in Snohomish or Lk Stevens. Just drop us a line.
