I wouldnt purchase a Hyundai at any price. My feeling is that with power has to come technology, and a car under 30K is cutting corners somewhere. A V-8 when gas prices are soaring...No thankyou
My guess is the Infifnity or G35 would out handle it and be a much safer ride at high speed and cornering.
I'd drive an Altima b-4 a hyundai. The 3.5 is bullet proof, and a motor you can modify. With good tires and a few modifications the car handles like it's on rails.
Chevy is good for putting a big motor in a crappy poor handling car with substandard components. They advertise standard anti-lock brakes on all their cars however fail to reveal that often there is only one sensor for two wheels, at least in the cars they market to teens. The cars have severe oversteer, in fact some were recalled.

don't criticize the hyundai yet, it's built with cheap laybor that's a big cost cutter. as for quality the new Santa Fe has out scored the Toyota Rav4 in terms of quality handling and power, so Hyundai is at the same level of engineering and quality as a toyota. The technology to build cars has improved so much over the last 10 years, that just about all manufactuers makes a well engineered car. Definatly getting your monies worth here.
We shall wait and see what Snob and Driver magazine say about it, I'm willing to bet it will rank very highly.

go to hyundai's website, and check out the geninis 2+2 sport coupe, that car is gonna be a real animal, it kinda has some crossfire lines to it. http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/av...sis_Coupe.aspx
some specs are, limited slip rear diff, brembo 13.4" twin piston brakes, well over 300hp, 111" wheelbase, 6 speed manual, 20" 5 spoke wheels. this sounds like an SRT6 killer for sure on the track, though there is no present plan from the "H" to drop in the v8 for the sport coupe
I can only imagine what the sales price will be.

You Should Really Do Some Investigating Before Passing A Comment About Hyundai's. I Own A Crossfire, An Acura Tl, A Maxima And My Everyday Favorite- A Hyundai Elantra Gt. 85 Thousand Miles- With Every Option Under The Sun And No Problems. They Replaced The Tranny 5 Thousand Miles Ago For 000000000000 $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ 's 100,000 Mile Extended Warranty. My Plates Are 2002 Gt And I Proudly Drive It Daily To Work. In Addition My Dad Has An Azera And My Friends Have Tucsons And Elantras. So There Is Something To Be Said From That Company Increasing Sales And Quality While We All On This Forum Write Of The Shortfalls Of Our Crossfire's.

The Hyundai cars tend to price much lower than their competitors by leaving out lots of the technical trickery that other cars get. For example, there hasn't been a hyundai yet produced with integral navigation/gps. No big LCD displays in the dash. They have platform shared as much as possible from the beginning.
Labor isn't cheap for Hyundai - heck, the Sonata and Santa Fe are built in Alabama. The difference is that Hyundai uses an incredible amount of automation. The following is an excerpt from the History Channel - a Hyundai plant is considered a "Modern Marvel"!

Hyundai has really changed in the last 5 years. Really amazing stuff.
Chrysler and GM could learn a lot from Hyundai, in my opinion.

From what I saw watching the LA Auto Show, they've dropped plans for any V-8, but the 290+ HP V-6 is a go.
It does catch the eye tho...

I drove two intrepids putting 50,000 on each and never even changed a bulb. My o4 altima. has 80,000 miles and is in perfect condiition. I have only replaced a timing sensor and AbS sensor. Oh yeah, I replaced the brake pads with ceramic ones too.
