The Ultimate Factory "sleepers"
Their is a guy here in Knoxville that has a PT with a small block 350 in it ! Very nicely done and you would not be able to tell except for the 20" wheels. Very cool car! I couldn't find any pics of it.

Modded sleeper cars are not all that special. I had one I should know. I had a 300hp Mazda MX-5. It was fun and it was a blast upsetting guys in Vett's and Porsches but it was not a "factory sleeper" and therfore not the same.

And, as Call911 has pointed out, the bone stock PT Turbo is a factory sleeper. I've taken down Mustang GTs with mine at the drag strip.

What about this
BMW M5
BMW has shoehorned in a 5.0-liter V10 capable of 500 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque

Goes like a bat out of hell When you flip the switch to punch up the pony's..-- You know for sure that you are moving by the pressure on your back pressed into the seat and the way your wallet lightens up at 9 MPG for 94 octane.

I think anyone who would knowingly pull up on an M5/M3 without something special under the hood needs a good mental exam. The M line is a beast and should only be played with by the most experienced of car drivers.

OK! HERE YUH GO! When I was a in high school, I had an Austin Healy Bug eyed Sprite with a 283 c.i. V8 in it
It had a four barrel carb, a GMC three speed on the floor, an Oldsmobile rear end and XKE steering linkage. A friend of mine saw it blow off a GTO one night, and when he told me, I knew I just had to have it. The only tip offs were the sound and the larger rear wheels. I bought a small fortune in after market performance parts but had to sell them off when a college part time job wasn't enough to pay the bills. The car went next. I had dreams about building a Triumph Spitfire with a Ford 289, but that never happened. This is another reason I love my SRT6, same formula, small light car lotsa horsepower.

Anyway, remember the 'K' cars? Well the Dodge Spirit R/T was a real sleeper with 224 turbocharged HP!
THE ORIGINAL SRT-4!!!! The car below is owned by a guy named Wallace and with his upgrades, he put down 421 wheel hp and 457 lb-ft of torque at 21 psi! Now that my friends, is a REAL sleeper of a grocery getter!

I always wanted a 92 Spirit R/T..........one of 191 built that year(1208 total for 91/92). When it was still on showroom floors it was faster than BMW's(then)current M5!!!
Another rare sleeper is the Mitsubishi Galant VR-4(awd turbo)
The Spirits were built on either an A or AA platform, don't remember which one but it was derived from the K platform.
The R/T certainly had performance for it's time. The car was also fairly civil, roomy, got good mileage, and had a decent build quality.
The major letdown of the R/T, and all of the Spirits, is the paint job. Chrysler either used a poor primer or no primer at all, but the end result is that many of these cars today sport more metal than paint. When new mine looked as good as the pictures above, now it's just a mess. It's bad enough to get me all teary eyed

Take advantage of it. Go to the local Pull a Part and get all the stock Spirt trim and then go out and destroy the local ricers !!! A true "sleeper" indeed
