dumb question #331: What is taking up space under the trunk of a Solstice Coupe?
Having looked at a Solstice Coupe recently, it appears to have the same trunk space as a Porsche Cayman. Except the Porsche Cayman has an engine in the the trunk, which explains the lack of trunk space.
What is underneath the cover in the trunk of the Solstice Coupe that causes the trunk to have no space at all?

Yes, it is the fuel tank. I briefly considered the Solstice roadster as a comp to the Crossfire, but the lack of ANY storage space in the nice little car killed the idea instantly. Barely a spot for a pack of cig's in the cabin, and not enough room for the wife's purse in the trunk.
What could GM have possibly been thinking?
