Default Saturn Sky Redline

My stepmom bought one recently. Pretty neat little car. I was lucky enough to be with her on the way to a cabin in georgia over the summer, so I spent some time in it.

First thing I noticed was the absolute lack of storage space. I pack extremely light, and i barely had room for one small duffel bag. You will fill up the trunk if you pack more than a few pair of socks. And forget any kind of hard luggage, it won't fit. This is because the gas tank in the back sticks up into the trunk as a big square, leaving almost no room for trunk.

As far as the car goes, I did like it. It is nothing compared to the srt6, but I never expected it to be. Unfortunately the automatic (which she has) doesn't have any kind of slapshift like the xfire, which was dissapointing. I don't understand this, it is a turbo so it needs to be in the higher rpm's to get the power, but it can't because the automatic shifts early. I thought the brakes were lacking a bit, and could have been a touch more powerful. They definitely had room in the rim (great looking rims) to fit bigger brakes.

We had to go over a road called the "georgia scenic bypass" which was AWESOME. Seeing how excited I was, she even let me drive it through the twisty, bendy, curvy mountain roads. I don't think she would do it again, because she was a bit green after the curves stopped, but I had a blast. During the turns I did take a look at the traction control. 3 settings, on, competition, and off. I didn't really get much experience with them, because her tires are pretty bad for grip. I didn't really want to push that on a mountain road.

After we got back on normal boring roads, it started raining. Obviously we had to pull over and put the top up. I wish it was automatic, but it isn't. It didn't take too long though, a bit of running back and forth snapping things in place. I'd say we only hit a "mildly wet" on the wetness scale in pretty good rain, so not too bad. Now that the top was up I started to pay attention to the inside. One detail, CRAMPED. The crossfire isn't the most spacious car in the world, but I feel like I'm in a huge recliner compared to the sky. The center console has a "v" shape and gets wider towards the front. This leaves literally barely enough room for your feet side by side at the very end. Not great for comfort.

So to recap, it's a cramped car with lacking performance. But I loved it. First off it looks fantastic. It is a dark blue, and the top is always down (which looks much better to me) Driving it on the mountain road helped a lot. There just aren't any roads like that around here, so it was a special treat to drive through there with the top down. I probably would have liked most any half-sporty car on that road.

Would I want one for myself? Nope. But I don't mind driving hers now and then either. If nothing else, I know I'm in a good looking car.

It was when I went looking for a Sky, I found the Crossfire that we decided on. Good choice so far! Even better to drive after I got rid of that pesky cup holder James

yep, a good looking car. The redline better that the standard which is more boring than hell itself. Like an overgrown aura or something. But after that, I would hate that car more than anything I've ever owned. Just my take
