I sold my 'Cuda! Why?
Man if that car looks as good in person as that photo...(the 68) If you don't score it, send me the contact information! Looks like a couple months down the road before I would be in the position to buy it, but would be well worth a phone call at that point.
Hopefully the Challenger tomorrow afternoon won't be as disappointing. I've always been an E-body man anyways.
It doesn't! The car was used for drag racing. The chrome was not good, neither was the paint. The engine was pretty strong but needs a rebuild, there was oil shooting out of the exhaust pipe...The rear tires were also useless.

You can thank "The Dukes of Hazzard" for that.
Ha! Ain't that the truth.
It's ok that the Charger wasn't great though, I bought the Challenger on Sunday.

pics or it didn't happen!!
I forgot to bring the camera, sorry!
I'm picking it up Saturday morning. I didn't bring any money but a "contract" was signed.
Quick question: What is the sound difference between piston slap and a header gasket leak?
When the engine is running it sound like a gargantuan pair of hands is clapping next to my lead. The sound was present at startup (cold) and after a test drive (Warmer).
The guy assured me it was a gasket and said he would replace it before I pick it up. I think he was being honest.(There are two pictures in his living room: 1 is of Jesus, the other of John Wayne) But I still wonder...
Any ideas?

Cant say I have experience in piston slap.. but ask me about determining a crack in the cylinder wall on a 327...
Lord, I hope its not that. The engine was supposedly rebuilt a little over a year ago. It looks like was too. The paint on the block looks new and there's not a spec of oil to be seen, top or bottom.
go with the Challenger! beautiful. In 75 I was in the dealership intending to buy a remaining 74 Cuda, red with the white interior. salesman blew me off for being young and not having the money to buy it. Ticked me off. A week later I came back in, asked the receptionist to call the dealers GM and that salesman to the showfloor to discuss a car. When they came down, I told them the car I wanted to discuss was the new Nova SS I just bought and I wanted to ask tyhem what they thought of it all, comparing it of course to that Cuda still on their lot. LOL when I saw the look the GM gave the sales guy. bet they talked about that a bit more after I left.
Oh, I see you bought the Challenger after i posted this. Good overall choice. the Charger in the pic to me just didn't look right.

The Challenger just needs seat belts, header gaskets, & a posi rear end. (My Wavetrac has spoiled me
No it probably won't. I sold a 73' Javelin AMX back around 2003. I still miss that car more astime goes by.
that 73 AMX was supposed to be my first car, new that is. I was 17, my dad knew the fleet manager at an AMC dealer. unfortunately, they firmed at 3500 for the AMX, so I ended up with a 73 gremlin x for 2000. when you made 1.65 an hour at 17 that 1500 might as well as being 15 'million. loved that gremlin though til it got traded on the 75 nova ss. Btw, look at the specs of size and weight between the Cross and the gremlin. not that far off. getting in the Cross sometimes makes me feel that old gremlin again for a lot of reasons.
