Default 2012 Ford Fiesta SE Hatchback

Since I had some time on my hands, and the wife's "to do" list for today was done, I thought I would take some time to work on other cars in my driveway. Took the opportunity to clean & detail the engine bay on my 2012 Ford Fiesta Hatchback this afternoon. The "fruits of my effort" are attached below.

Clean, but looks like 10lbs in a 5lb bag. That is tight.

Just another example of a sub-compact, front wheel drive engine bay. Once the engine is turned 90 degrees, the engine bay gets really packed. Ford didn't even provide the typical engine cover as the engine bay was already full enough! But I kinda like the "techy-look" of the engine bay w/o the plastic engine cover.

For the record, I used Griot's Engine Bay Dressing for the final protective treatment. Light coating gives a satin-like shine; heavy coating gives a glossy-like shine. I get similar results compared to the old CD-2 Engine Protector that some of us used. (Note: I still have 2 cans of CD-2 on my garage shelves. I save it for the Crossfire's engine bay.)

Took some time on yesterday to clean the engine on my 2012 Fiesta before the storm front was supposed to arrive here. Used Purple Power to clean the engine, hosed it off after I let the degreaser perform its task, then dried the engine with my Stihl yard blower. Left the hood up for about 90 minutes to let the engine finish up drying; then used my yard blower for a final drying effort. I grabbed the last can of CD-2 Engine Detailer I had on my garage shelf & sprayed the engine everywhere I thought it needed dressing up. Engine bay looks once again like the pictures I previously posted above. I'll post the recent final look tomorrow once the storm front passes later this evening.
