Sad Day, Chyrsler is dropping the Hemi...
The value of your Dodge Challenger/ Charger, with the Hemi, just went through the roof. Keep that baby running.

I have a hemi in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Great powerplant, terrible car. I wonder, with this news, if it will be more valuable. LOL

".......Once again, I hate to say I told you so…
I warned everyone that the disbanding of Dodge’s SRT team was the beginning of the end for high-performance for the brand, but some people just didn’t want to hear it. Then when it came out recently that the Hellcats are getting canceled at the end of 2023 I predicted that would also be the curtain call for all the Hemi V8s, something which was just confirmed........"I have a hemi in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. From what I have read Mercedes has cancelled all V-8 imports into the USA for the next year; excuse was computer boards. Makes you wonder ????
Well, soon there won't be engines at all, just electric motors.
Though I suspect the Hemi will still exist as the Inline 6 turbo is introduced to be sold alongside it. The Hemi engine is a big part of FCA/Stellantis image, they can't quit it cold turkey, nor do they have to at this time. There is nothing from Stellantis that they will stop selling Hemi V8s right away, and if they want to keep selling their most profitable vehicles, specifically the RAM 1500, which currently has a 90% take of Hemi vs 3.6L, they won't.

The step after that will be public transportation by law. Not sure how that will work in rural America...
Look at that new Rivian Truck, it does 0-60 faster than most supercars and off-roads like a Jeep. The range could improve and charge times faster, but that will improve with time. I think the future is bright for car ownership, other than the lack of sound, I will miss that.
Sure, but a big reason wasn't because they were hybrid or electric, but because they didn't feel it would be convenient yet to have them. Once the technology and vehicles improve, that will change. I wasn't too keen on them at first, but after driving them and seeing what they could do, I see myself owning one probably in the next 5-10 years.
Going to depend on locale. If you live in an urban area, they might work for you. Live in rural areas? I'll pass until fuel cell vehicles become viable. Total cost of ownership, and complete cradle to grave environmental impacts are considerations, also. Green cars are not too green, the more your study them,
I think 2 factors detract most people from buying 100% electric cars.
1) Not a homeowner (can't charge overnight).
2) Interstate travel needs beyond the vehicle's charging range.
I read about but have forgotten the brand which offers any buyer of one of their electric cars the ability to drop off their electric vehicle at a dealership and get, for free, the use of a gasoline car for 10 days per year.
