Default Build a street freak?

Ok, probably be a few haters here, but I'm thinking for my next build a CF gasser or?
My last build: saved from the crusher. It's a1957 New Yorker.

I get the use of the Mercedes engine, but I'll probably go American muscle. I'll keep the manual trans, upgrade to the stronger rear components and adapt ecm to work with my system. Has anyone used any other engine other than Mercedes successfully?

Nice gasser!
To answer your question, a guy put a 5.7 Hemi in a crossfire about 8 years ago.
There's a video on youtube.

There was another one with a 4.3 Vortec about 12 years ago.

I saw a GM 350 with a turbo 350. The 5.7 Hemi swap required grafting Charger engine compartment components into the Crossfire. The Crossfire shock towers limit the options for non fabricators/engineers.

I'm thinking a 383 stroker I have on a stand; 500+ HP, tunnel ram 2-4's with a t-56 6 speed. Haven't decided on a rear end yet, possibly graft a CTS center section and strengthen the suspension to keep independent.

I am on my third 5.4 engine and trans also from SL55, crossfire V8 #1 ran 10.5 @ 132 (no time slip)
have time slip for 10.79 @ 130
crossfire V8 #2 ran 10.92@ 128
and crossfire #3 have not finished yet and has not taken to the track yet expect hope low 10's
the SL55 engine starts at 485 hp at the crank , that is 135 hp more than a stock srt6
when i get through it will have 600 hp or very close to it ,,, can you say sleeper, or street genius.
