Dodge Demon
Dodge Demon
So does this explain DCX's obvious lack of interest in promoting the Crossfire?

Re: Dodge Demon
well, this will sell for around 20k - 25k hopefully and will actually sell due to the tuner market being interested in the 2.4 ... problem with the crossfire is they sat for a few years and then sold for 20k ... i blame that on chrysler's lack of advertising and high expectations for sales ... other manufacturers have been perfectly content with selling the numbers the xF did for such vehicles ... lets face it, this is not a practical car so it won't sell to 90% of the population.
can't wait to see a SRT model of the demon ...

I couldn't get the link to work, but I found an article here:

Oh my. That thing is a disaster IMO. Kind of like an s2000 with a Charger front clip, with all kinds of other mis-matched pieces slapped on.
Makes you wonder what in the heck DCX is thinking.

Re: Dodge Demon
I'd say it is a worthwhile car - If they keep the price BELOW $20k, it would compete directly with the Solstice/Sky/Miata/S2000 cars - which are not in the class of the Crossfire, being all 4 cylinder powered - and if an 'SRT' version is offered - I believe with the light weight, it would easily out perform the 'Sky Redline' etc - But I am sure the name won't fly - they will have the same issue they had in '72 when they changed the 'Demon' over to 'Dart Sport' because of the religious groups that had to complain. ... Go for it DC!

Re: Dodge Demon
I haven't said that it's a sharp car or not.
What I DID say is that I see too many other styles rolled up on it. It has it's own look, but just barely.
The hints of 350Z are nice and a few (VERY FEW) styling cues are it's own. Other than that... it reminds me of another clone.
I got to drive a solstice last year... SUCKS for power and the suspension is soft. It is a cute car if you are in it for looks and not performance. The Demon will be the same way. Show not Go.
I stick with my original statement ... I keep my Unique Crossfire SRT6... Show AND Go baby!

Re: Dodge Demon
I really do like it...but they will have to keep the price down as some one said to compete with that market. You are very right the Solstice/Sky are nice looking cars (except for the cheap looking tops) but they do lack power and sophistication like the Crossfire has. If the Demon does well and I bet it will then bring out an SRT version and go for the power.
Re: Dodge Demon
Those are def. Audi TT taillights, hint of a curvy G35 backend, stance like a 350, trunk lid like a 350, and Charger grille.
We could go on about the combination of what it looks like but I kind of like it. I personally like the Sky better, though I wouldn't mind having the SRT-4 engine paired with it. I think it could sell with all the baby roadsters being the "in" thing.

Every time I clicked on windingroad.com I lose my internet access. So I found another website with some more photos of the Demon concept.

I'm going to reserve my comments for later. I still haven't made up my mind.
