It looks like Ford isn't playing games with the Taurus SHO.

We had one as a family car when I was a little kid. I never thought I'd want to ever drive a Taurus again...

 

From what I have read,
Getting 400 hp is not much of a problem with the Ford setup.
You can only get the Eco-Boost with all wheel drive.
The torque would be too much for front wheel drive.
I think this thing deserves a look.

It is also available in the (Short Bus) Flex.

 

I had an '90 SHO as my second car, bought it myself. That car was awesome. Very luxurious...at least to me at the time it was . And it had some nice power. I thouroughly enjoyed that car. And nobody expected a 5-speed, high output Taurus when they tried to take me at lights either.

 

I like the new look, and it has *****.

 

If they (American Car Companies) would go back and make some of their new cars in a 2 dr. version I think they would regain some market. I bet this SHO would look great in a coupe.

Ford is on the right track with this one, but why not put it the Mustang? I suspect that this transverse mounted powertrain couldn't be adapted to the longitudinal setup in the Pony?

 

I heard rumors of a new svo mustang... I'm sure it will happen eventually

 

Can anyone confirm that this engine is transvere mounted in the taurus or other vehicles?

im a *big* fan of the SHO, owned a '93 (auto), but no manual available in this one? and its HUGE! go stand next to a Lincoln MKZ -- huge.

Today i like the G8 GXP so much more...

and Ford is calling it the "Sho" like its a word. Its an acronym, S,H,O... like SRT, AMG, SVT, SS, etc. it really irked me when i heard them refer to it as the "Sho" at the auto show.
