Wanted: Tires and Rims
The story gets worse. I spent today cleaning the rims and tires. Now I know why there was one wheel that did not have a tire mounted. The rim is cracked!!! Its garbage I cannot use it. So now I have only 3 rims with mismatched tires. Now I need to purcase yet another SRT rim if I want to run what I just bought.
Anyone have front SRT rim with a good tire lying around? Anyone need 3?

I not only like the look of the 7 spoke wheels better, but just wait until it's time to clean the SRT rims and see how you like them then !!!
alaxfire.. he already knows..
And like you.. The seven spoke suite me fine. I've only see about 2 designs I would consider replacing with. Nothing I've seen jumps out at me enough to be worth spending the money over. Add spacers change lugs roll fender.. No thanks..

Yeah, I hear that! Luckily the 15 spoke rims were pretty clean to begin with but I was saying to myself as I was tring every darn brush I had in the house to fit into those little V grooves... "This is gonna suck when these wheels are really dirty"
I dont think I am gonna get that ebay wheel. I will be into it for a buck fifty by the time I get it to my door and then I will need to find and mount a tire. I think unless I find another good 15 spoke with some decent tread mounted soon, I will sell off the good 15 spokes that I have and just order up some Kumho's from the tire rack like I shoud have just done in the first place.

Have you looked into Walmarts tires? They have gotten good reviews online and a couple members are running them..
Purchase the Nexen N3000 Tire 225/40ZR18XL at Walmart.com. Save money. Live better.
Get the Nexen N3000 Tire, 245/35R19XL at an always low price from Walmart.com. Save money. Live better.
Was going to go that route for fronts till I discovered over the weekend it was front tires TODAY time.. bad lower ball joints had inside edge wore to threads and starting to come apart..

Hmmm Those look decent for the price. Had I know about them before I might not even had posted this. So what to do now is the question? Try to find a 4th SRT rim or sell the three. Maybe I should chance the post title to both wanted and for sale?
Anyone want to make an offer on the 3? Anyone have a front SRT rim local to NJ with thread ready to go.
If you see a red limited running around the jersey shore with 2 15 spoke on the passenger side and 2 7 spoke on the drivers that me.
just make sure you only look at one side of the car at one time
LOL .

John, just caught your thread. First let me say this, the reason the one wheel had the tire dismounted was because as I told you the yoko ran low for 25 miles so I took the conti off and put it on my car for safety reasons as I explained. I don't know anything bout a crack, but as stated above any good body shop with a high grade miller welder can tig a crack and it will not be visible if done from the inside. Shouldn't charge more than 10-15 bucks. I'm sorry for your buyers remorse, but if you compare prices I have just seen, the deal you got was extremely generous on my part. I assure you there was no known issue (crack) I was aware of and it never lost air . If you want I can get a friend to tig the crack, ( send photo to confirm) for free, just another drive....to as you say "the middle of nowhere" ....actually the home of James Michener, Margaret Meade, and many, many other notables. Do a search! If you want I can call back the other buyer who was terribly disappointed and put u guys together, if he hasn't already pulled the trigger on another deal? You're giving me "sellers remorse". Your assessment of tread left is incorrect, but I don't want to question your judgement. I enjoyed making your acquaintance and wish no ill will between us.

PS nexen tires compared to the contis are the equivalent comparison of a Porsche to a Miata. One is a performance sports car tire, and the other is just a set of cheap, noisy, wannabes.

Guess Walmart has paid review performers.
Some people do just enjoy driving the car on a daily commute without having to see where the edge of traction is on a hairpin curve, that will only last 15k.
Guess I can compare this to hot air intake @50 bucks to CAI at $600 plus. My temps are running around OEM setup but I"m not restricted to the small grill opening pass through of OEM. It now gets more air and works for me.
And I'll bet no one is bothered enough to PM for my shipping address to drop ship the Needswings intake to me..

Nope.. I own one so there's nothing to defend.
It's a great car... has been trouble free outside of standard maintenance since bought brand new from the show room floor in Nov. 1990.
I've replaced one rear bearing in 165K miles
It's my way of defending the right to choose your options without someone telling you what a piece of crap it is because it doesn't suite "their" needs.
Seems to be a slight outbreak of that every now and then, and every now and then a reality check of "your way isn't the best way for everyone" is needed.
Edit:
In thread review.. Yahoo groups member on the Miata at one point. A member used to **** a Porsche off on the morning commute as he could out corner him. Guess those that really know.. know.

Yes mr Miata, our obsessions are all subjective, I take stuff to the extremes, perhaps good, perhaps bad, shrug. I always buy Ben and Jerry's, instead of the local dairys brand (wawa).but the other day the local dairy had a 2 for one sale and home I brought them. As I was munching down, my GF says " this isn't Ben and Jerry's is it?
I guess a better comparison would be high end stereo equipment. Ever hear a set of 25k speakers at an audiophile shop and think not even a dog could discern the diff tween them and the 2000 dollars Polks I've got at home.
So I guess the answer is somewhere in between. But let me ask u this? If you had unlimited funds, would you opt for the nexens?
Just a hypothetical. Oh, and no dis intended on the miatas, I head a lotus élan back in thee day, and I think it was very very inspirational on the then future Miata.....oh, and since I've never used those nexens, perhaps u may be spot on, but most reviewers, well, it's diff to say....I'd go more by car and driver or road and track reviewers, jmho.

Unlimited funds would probably still find my General G-max on the car (rear) since I have no need for the "sticks like snot..triple razor tread upside down hanging $600 dollar rear tires with 5k mileage guarantee ... And I now have Primewell tires on the front as a "must have now" situation over ball joints arose. Even less than the Nexens.. do I expect to steer through corners better than someone with Conti's.. No.. I'm realistic too.
Decisions to be made are based on each individuals needs.. perceived or real.
And yes the Miata did a nice job of opening a market for its copycat BMW Z3.. No one will ever "offend" me on the Miata. When it was 2 years old and I was asked "what'd that run ya... 30K ?" It kinda summed up that it's more car than it cost.. back then anyways, much like buying a crossfire today.
