Joined the scca.
I've been a member for about 10 years. I mainly solo but I do have a timing and scoring lisc. and have worked corners for road racing. I also have done a number of track days starting back when they were HPDS's.
There have been times when I haven't agreed with the club and/or classing but for me in Wichita, ks, it's the only place to play.

I've had fun, I'm not the fastest but I do enjoy it.
During the last 10 years I've run:
- 1991 Geo Storm (don't laugh!) I was into stereo competition and the storm had about 200 pounds worth of amps, subs and fiberglass
- 1985 Volkswagen Golf. My first solo only car. Totally gutted and ran in E/Prepared. Not real fast but with all the interior removed except the driver's seat, I could carry all of my tires and stuff for a weekend solo.
- first gen. RX-7. Fun car, no horsepower. Ran it in C/Stock
- 3rd Gen Camaro. V-8 horsepower and a lot of tail-out fun.
- C-4 Corvette. More V-8 horsepower and a great handling car. Ran it, like the Camaro, in a local only street tire class.
- Now the Crossfire in D/Stock. Great handling car out of the box. Next season I'll start playing with some alignment changes. So far I've run 4 events and I've had 3 first and one second but I do have to admit, D/Stock is kind of soft around these parts.
Best of luck with you running, it's a great way to play with cars, hang out with a bunch of gearheads and learn your and your car's capabilities.

I have been a member for 6 years. I am flying out to Topeka on Monday for Nationals for the first time. I will be driving my friend's '99 Miata in C Stock. Next year I will have the Crossfire more developed and it will be making the trip out.
Best of luck at Nationals Keith. Even thought it's just a couple of hours away, I won't be able to get there this year. Always a lot of fun and very awe inspiring to see so many talented drivers.
I'll be checking the daily update to see your success.
Best of luck go and represent the Crossfire!

I was a member for over ten years. The politics on the local and national levels can get to be a real pain in the pancreas but if you want to go road racing it was the only game in town.
Tech inspector then FV driver from 1975 to 1981. Let my membership lapse when the killer ex-wife from hell sucked up all my time and money.
Raced at Nelson's Ledges, Mid-Ohio, Indianapolis Raceway Park, Elkhart Lake, Summit Point and Waterford Hills. You get to meet some great folks, competitors and workers and the driver you out braked into a turn last week will gladly loan you his spare whatever when yours breaks. And the corner workers will teach you all the verses to Alice's Restaurant in order at their campfire.
