That's a peak power to weight ratio of 11.1 VS our 14.0 with similar gearboxes. Driven moderately well, the slowest older model 350Z is faster than even a lightly modded NAxfire.

all i know is my car is going to performance factory over the winter my appointment is already scheduled, i am just waiting to get laid off for winter, it is gonna be getting a vortech charger kit i have decided on and safely going to be 400whp stock internals, for my daily driver, this is only on 8 psi., then down the road maybe bump it up a little but should be good enough for a daily driver, then i can get going on project supra. lol. and right now my car would walk a older z28 like you say you have, no questions asked.

IIRC, TVT's stock crossfire only hit 170whp on an AWD dyno.

That's aweful compared to specs. my friend took his to the drags here in bristol and couldn't break a damn 15 sec run no matter how hard he launched. Unimpressive, My z28 walked him.
Myslef and a Shelby Performance Driving Instructor ran 15.2 @ 92mph about 11 times in a row in 75 degree weather @ Milan dragway. One more second to go from 92 to 100mph? Hell, I think R&T were being generous.

lol it's all driver error there bc i know how to lunch my xfire from a dig i raced a 04 350z & i kept up with him till 3rd gear and he started to pull on me bc hell he does have more bhp then a stock xfire more displacement thats all kids

Maybe it's the 13.9 quarter mile time on the S2000 that makes the XF stat look so wrong

I've raced my friends G35 auto with just exhaust and it walked me by like 5 lengths. With our TVT250 kit, I pull all the time.
Just for comparison sake I also have a 90 Corvette 6 spd. These cars were rated at 250 HP stock. Mine is bone stock and will pull on any of the above mentioned cars over and over. Reason being is the torque.
With even a moderately decent driver the stock Xfire should lose to a G35/350Z, mustang, S2k (driver's race), and yes even the lowly M5.

for the one comment yes there is a big difference from crank horsepower and wheel horsepower, and driver is huge in a street race, i did very well with my crossfire racing other people from a dig but to race from a roll shows alot more of the cars differences, even though driver is stil a big factor, guess what i am saying is that it is easier to race from a roll and alot of times driver won't matter as much. S2000 stock for stock with a crossfire is quite a bit faster, and a 350z quite a bit faster. Like i said before a good driver and a stock 350z will go high 13's in the older years. new ones closer to 12's. crossfire maybe 14's. 350z will put down 230whp all day stock just for the record and the stock internals will handle 420whp with a good tune. I will be sitting at 400whp on safe conservative tune after the winter. and for the other comment the older z28's are pretty slow compared to the new ones.
lol i could go out spend 5 grand on an ls1 camaro and make you feel like the biggest wuss in the world. they can go low 13's high 12's stock. throw maybe 3 grand in it and you have a consistent low 11 high ten second car that's street legal and all for eight grand
. oh wait i could just keep the xfire and do that for all the money your putting in that thing.
i wouldnt be to sure about this 400 hp kit for your Z. a friend of mine has an 8psi set up for his Z, supposive same 400 some hp should do 12s all day yada yada. i watched a mach1 mustang pull on him very bad! even as the turbo started to come in the mustang still hung. and this wasnt a quarter this was light to light!
first of all not talking about a turbo, vortech is a charger, and also very postiive of 400whp not crank horsepower, whp, look up performance factory, give them a shout if you would like, they have intstalled the most vortech kits on z's in the us and have no question of the power i will make, that is easy to get that power and could get much more but as of now just keeping stock internals and gonna be daily driver, with a conservative tune, and reliable and all day 12's, i went to the track tonight for street night, and ls1 camaros were in 14's even the modded ones were mid to high 13's, i watched a stock z go 14.0, my z went 13.6 with a bad 60ft. only got one run since i got there late, not bad for close to stock with my 19's on and 52 degrees out (traction
12's will not be hard at all with double the horsepower, low 12's will be easy. good tuners and people who know what they are doing are a big difference from slapping some kit on and running it. next week i will get there early and get some good footage. trust me not turning this into an argument just don't like when someone doesn't know what they are talking about.
