Unhappy Long Time No See Peeps !!!

I haven't been on the forum for quite awhile and it looks like it would take a lot of reading to catch-up on all the interesting things being discussed and all the performance tricks / products available now. I decided to take a look around after getting numerous PM's over the past few months from members asking for advice and information about my racecar.

I'm sure you guys have taken the bull by the horns and the forum is a wealth of knowledge and hearty discussion. Sadly my Crossfire is very neglected now because I've recently purchased a STOHR SportsRacer which will take some time to finish the assembly and get it sorted for competition. Not to mention trying to get used to driving a car that's putting 190hp to the ground and only weighs 800lbs.

Anyway, here's the Crossfire in a photo heading to the track a few months ago.

And here's a photo of the STOHR DSR... When mine is completely assembled, I'll post some photos next to the Crossfire.

Welcome back HDDP.

You'll like the Stohr. John from Trackpedia owned a DSR but unfortunately it burned to the ground:

http://www.trackpedia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2494

This was in Minnesota @ BIR. The reason for failure was component related - the oil cooler fittings failed - you might want to check yours if your DSR comes with a Setrab cooler - I'm pretty sure Stohr uses a lot of similar components between cars.

I did have a chance to see John's replacement Stohr F1000 run all day. It's not super fast on the straights but on the corners, his telemetry said he was pulling multiple g's.

Thanks Sonoros,

Yes, the Stohr F1000 and W1 DSR are identical under the skin. Just fitted with different body components. The car's top speed is about the same as my race prepped (SRT6 engined) Crossfire, but it gets there MUCH faster and has the capability of taking turns at least twice the speed. 190 hp / 800 lbs vs 380 hp / 2, 500 lbs.

I have not decided which engine to purchase yet, since I am still trying to get as many experienced opinions as I can before I buy it. In order to class the car in DSR instead of CSR my engine options are quite limited, but I'm leaning toward the Suzuki GSXR1000.

I'm currently assembling mine. The photo is the 2008 SCCA national champion DSR. I know there were some installation issues with the Setrab oil cooler but I believe those have been resolved.

I'll post pics every once in awhile as the car gets put together....
