Default Any one interested in an Autocross track?

Here is the deal. I know of an autocross track goin to be built in the TN area (thats about as specific as i can be with out drawing to much attention to soon). Its going to be about 3/4 of a mile and not a fast track but a very agresive track and very demanding on the driver. (imho the more fun tracks to run) It will be run alot like an scca event. it will be low cost to driver and able to be rented for the day or weekend by clubs. it will start out with just a track then to be added will be consetions, rentable garages to keep cars locked in, rentable work areas (for those emergancy repairs) a garage with a mechanic, rv hook ups, camping areas with showers, and a roll back(for those towes back to the house)
What im looking for are ideas on what some of you racers and non-racers alike would like to see if you had you way. All ideas are welcome as we are still planning and laying out the track. Again all comment and ides welcome.

Being that close, I would just like to know when and where.

Count me in!

sounds like a twisty to me...how long a straightaway are you planning? I looked at building an RV site in Eastern TN about 10 yrs ago...ran into a lot of obsticles, especially sewer hook-ups, power...it was all cost prohibitive...but I am in if you build it...

I thought the best autocross circuit was a huge-*** parking lot and lifetime supply of cones. What's the point of having an autocross track that's fixed in shape?

First off thanks for the response. now to answers question.

1. the back stretch is looking to be shy of 1/4 into a hard left turn. (depending on final layout)

2. having a set track is as compared to "cone racing" is you have a better racing surface, a set track to compare your times and everyone else to and there having trouble finding parking lots

please send any comments and any 2cents you have we want do do this right and have as many people enjoy the facility as we can

I also was meaning to add that there will also be go-karts, motorcycles and even lawn mower racing if you want. We are gear heads so any thing that we can race were going to

It sounds like what you're building is going to be fun, but unless you've got a huge parking lot area, it's not going to be useful as an autocross course.

An autocross course needs to change so drivers won't get board and can have some challenge to their skills, otherwise you are building a little road course instead of autocross.

perhaps road corse is a better term. sorry to offend the parking lot racers ha ha
but the there will be options on how the course can be run by paving different routes and blocking off curves to change the track.
