I really like the Goodrich Pros I have on the back of my NA roadster. Not recommended for wet or snow but great driving tires thru the twisties. Minimal grooves with rather stiff sidewalls and lots of rubber to the road.

I get chirp in gears one thru three. They will break loose enough to allow some drift thru turns. No loss of control. I run them at 39 -40 psi.

TwiceBaked, it depends on what your really looking for. If it's tires for racing Hustler knows. I tried Hankook Z214's and they're equal to Hoosier's when new but loose speed as they age, and they age fast. So Hoosiers are where it's at. If your looking for a street tire that's sticky, I liked Kumho Ecsta XS and Hankook RS-3. If your in a cooler climate you could try the Yokohama Advan 008. Real good too until they get too hot. Be sure what you need or want before you buy. Be honest or you'll be unhappy. BTW, if your really pushing, which ever tires, at the track the streets won't last a whole lot longer than the Hoosiers. If your alignment isn't track perfect no tire will last very long.

If youre looking to go fast for a short time hoosier r6 is a great track tire. If you want something that will last and still be fast look at the nitto nt01 or kumho xs as stated, the nt01 can be bought 235-40-18 and is a great track or autocross tire and ive found to be as fast in autocross as the hoosiers, the kumho is another tire that can eb found in our size on ebay 285 35 19 2 rears for about 170 a piece and front 235 40 18 for 75 a peice. Also another one is the hankook rs3 great tire, loves the heat and decently priced.
Hankook also just put out a new one ive seen on ebay a 80 treadwear i belive, the z221, supposed to be a great track tire.
But you really need to decide if you want to go as fast as possible for a lesser amount of laps or a little slower and more laps.

Just so you have a little comparison the Hoosier R6 lasts about 12 heat cycles, after that they are trash. The Nittos can not be heat cycled out, they can be run down to the cords with very little performance drop (average for us is about 30 sessions with them). The down side is the nittos are about 1-1.5 seconds slower per lap on our track. We use the nittos for all the testing and practice and the hoosiers for go time. Oh yea we also run 18 inch rims as nittos don't make a 19 inch tire. Also keep in mind with out enough camber in the front the hoosiers are going to wear really fast on the shoulders, you'd be lucky to get 8 cycles on them. They need at least -2.5deg.

Good point on the camber, I don't know how I forgot. I have -3º on the front with the Hoosiers. Street tires seemed to be happiest around -2.2º for track duty.
