Autocross tire pressure?
Autocross tire pressure?
Any reccomendations for tire pressure for autocross? Been racing a miata last 2 years until it got totalled. Not sure where to start on this heavy of a car. Thinking close to 40psi in front with 2-3psi less in the back to try and offset the understeer the car seems to have.
Re: Autocross tire pressure?
Depends on your tires. The car understeers bad fully stock. 40 up front and about 35 in back is a great place to start with daily driver tires, and then chalk the tire edges to see how much roll over you get and adjust lower if you can. Front camber kit gives you about 1/2 degree of neg camber and helps, and using your brakes in corners to help load up the front end helps also.
If you start down the slippery slope, Koni's, SRT springs and a front H&R bar can turn it into an UNDERSTEER car.
Don't forget your Hoosier A7's ; )
