First Autocross of the Season
First Autocross of the Season
My younger son and I autocrossed the Crossfire on Saturday with the San Antonio Sports Car Association (SASCA).. This was the first time in over a year and, more importantly, the first time since I changed the Relay Control module. I finished fourth out of eight, and my son was seventh out of eight. The first three positions in the class were Honda Civic Rs, one of which was driven by the open and women's 2018national champion in the class. The car has so much more power--torque mainly than it ever has since I have owned it. Also, I was 25th out of 120+ in PAX. It's time for camber bolts and more seat time. I'm totally in love with my Crossfire!
Re: First Autocross of the Season
Great job! We are still dealing with snow here... Ran a full season last year (21 races) and looking forward to this year. Keep in touch I am always looking for tips and willing to share successes and failures... What did you change on the RCM?

Re: First Autocross of the Season
My Crossfire is a 2005 base model. I have installed K&N air filters, H&R 30mm front anti-sway bar, 17x7.5 front Sparco rims, 18x9 Sparco rear rims, 225/45 Bridgestone Potenza RE71 front tires, 255/40 Bridgestone Potenza RE71 rear tires, custom cat back, and Koni Sport shocks. It's a manual transmission. I purchased the base model because it's lighter and has fewer frills.
Re: First Autocross of the Season
There were two primary considerations: (1) weight. The smaller wheels are lighter. (2) price of tires. They cost much less. I love the Bridgestones; so I haven't considered any other tire. I could run 245/40x17 in the front, and may try them in the future. Also, 275/35x18 in the back will work. With your mods, what class are you in?
