I wish I had some friends that wanted to run, (only one is really into cars and has a tuned car) its a 95' modded gs eclipse w/nos. Here is a link to a vid compilation i made of our cars. But i whoop him everytime we run, and now that I have beat him and his nos, he really doesn't run anymore cause its not worth it for him. and all the lil ricers around here with fart cans never want to go. I caught up to a wrx (not sti) zipping through traffic on the highway today and as soon as i caught up to him and pulled side by side. I gave it a lil gas to get him to play and then he pulls behind me in the fast lane and rides my as*. so i throw it into 3rd at about 65 and just floor it. And he never tries to keep up or nothing. Was he fooled by how fast the crossfire looks? I think it would of been a good run if he would of wanted to. Wasn't a real victory but in my books, that guy got scared and thought the crossfire was some sort of exotic or something like a ferrari. He must of missed the chrysler logo up front. So it was like a mental victory and he got "psyched" out. Just run against your friends. Win or lose, there's always going to be someone out there faster than you. Just got to accept defeat sometimes and enjoy the adrenaline rush. Seems like i never get a red light when i want to. Or i'll be first at a red light with a fast road but some old lady is lined up next to me.

Well, I'm new here (doing some research for a friend). My buddy just bought an 05' Crossfire and wants to mod it. He wants to try and make it a race between us when i'm in the Evo. We have raced a couple times, but its not even close, but i'm far from stock.

Anyways, it does seem quick enough to beat a Prelude. Heck, I was on ones as* in a 03' GMC Sierra with a few mods, definitely not that quick. The 350z, IMO no chance if the guy can drive, also should be a good run for the Jetta, I think it could beat it, anyways just. my .02 cents

 

I think I'm starting to understand why this guy's trans is toast...

 

There isn't much unless you got lots of $$$ This car is not cheap to mod. There's a few thread a round here on the mods you can do. Let me see if I can find a couple links.

 

quick z06, what year is your evo? any mods? i have been thinking of getting one, but i have read and heard they suck for driving around town. any input? how's the ride? any problems? and etc. thanks, and your buddy in his 05' thinks he'll beat your evo? either he doesn't know cars or thinks you can't drive (you can drive right?) maybe if you start in second it would be close. just my 2 cents.

My Evo is an 03'. Why would it suck for driving around town? I love the car, my best advice would be if your interested in buying one, I would go test drive one and see for yourself. Mine is lowered, so the ride is a bit stiff, but even stock its pretty stiff, but I don't mind that at all. My S2K used to be that way too and the Z06 is also, most cars that can handle pretty well stock are gonna be stiffer than some other cars. The thing that's nice about the Evo, is its roomy, awd and potential. Just a few bolt ons and your easily running 12's.

As for my buddy "thinking" he can beat me...Yeah that's what he thought until we raced He's an older guy so he's not really into cars. Lets just say I put about 7-8 cars on him before letting off from about a 65 mph roll up to like 110. Yes I can drive, believe me I take out plenty of cars that "should" beat me. Also racing an Evo starting in 2nd gear isn't gonna do much. I know most people try to avoid racing them off the line, but believe me from a slow 2nd gear roll, its just as fast. Matter of fact I actually prefer running from a roll like that (no bogging etc) although I can launch pretty well.

My mods are, downpipe, test pipe, catback, ecu reflash (22 psi) 269 cams, ti valve springs/retainers, lightweight flywheel, carbon/kevlar clutch, built tranny and a few other misc things. It should be close to 350 hp and run high 11's to low 12's

 

Thanks for the links Black SRT...I know he wants an exhaust and maybe an intake if there's one available. I don't know how much he's willing to spend.

 

thanks quickz06, even though my car ain't turbo or super fast, i prefer from a roll too. just cause, I'm not the greatest off the line and don't want to drop or feather the clutch all the time. are you going to get the new z06? that car is just sick in everyway, and 22 cubic ft of trunk, that's 3x the crossfires.

 

Yeah we might get the new Z06, but we'll wait for the price to come down. We figure this one will have to do for now. i don't know though. We'll most likely keep the Z06 we have, but we might replace the Evo with a Skyline, if they come out with it or a couple domestics a Shelby GT500 or a Viper.

 

Will they be yellow?
