From 3/27-4/3/16 drove to Virginia Beach from Lynchburg, VA. It is about 4 hour trip one way. I'm a little shy bout some idiot light coming on but 'Rita' ran fine and gave 30mpg on the road. Nice trip of eating seafood and watching the ocean.
Installed a second OEM cargo light on the opposite side with led's in both. No more shadows in the cargo area now.
I found it dim in the trunk, so I added to LED license plate units. The trouble with the OEM ones is that they loose too much light out the rear of the bulb holder.
The units are a bit tight in the OEM cutout but fit just fine. CLICK
I also did something similar in the cabin foot wells, I added one LED light each side. CLICK
Today I stopped by the DMV and renewed my license plate sticker
Then I went to the emissions test station and the car PASSED
No surprise really ...I have had this Crossfire for almost 9 years and it has always passed
Then I came home and detailed it and replaced the cabin air filter
Last week I changed the oil and fleece filter
Mobil 1 0W40 with the mail in rebate
Never thought of using the led plate units - the new Osram led tube bulbs now come with a deflector on half of the bulb - just angle the deflector toward the back of the housing, and all the light goes out to the cargo area.

Now it is SHOW TIME in both places.
These are both great examples of a small but effective upgrade. Saved copies for future consideration. Thanks

Not difficult, HOWEVER you need a 14 m allen wrench socket. I made one by grinding down a 9/16 allen wrench and then inserting that into a 9/16 socket on my torque wrench. It took me a hour to cut a 4 inch length off an allen wrench with a hacksaw. (Not to worry I have four more of those allen wrenches.) 37 ft. lbs. I also have a mytivac which I used to inject the new oil into the differential case. If you do not have one you will have to find another way to get the new oil in the fill hole. The exhaust pipe is something you need to work around or remove. It takes about 1.2 liters so I bought 2 quarts of Valvoline 75w-90 full synthetic.

Wow, a real 2006, phenomenal find, and priced a lot less then I would of expected! Congrats! I have a lot of family that lives in around Brisbane.
Hey yall, I know this is way off subject and has nothing to do with the conversation but maybe you guys can answer my question. So I'm changing my oil on my 04 crossfire which has 121xxx miles on it. I was wondering if I needed to get the high mileage Mobil 1 santhetic oil or do I need to get the Mobil 1 performance full santhetic oil ? Or does it not make a difference
Okay I was just making sure which one to get due to price difference of a few dollars. And also do you know of a really food fuel injector cleaner for the crossfire?
