I can't see how it could be the trans pan. I'm guessing that if it's crank pulpy that caused the damage then it will be the uppernpan for sure. Have to pull the engine and trans for that. If you're going to do that it might be less expensive to purchase a replacement (used) engine. Got pics?


I will have to take some and post them for you to see I hit a low spot in the road which bent the radiator housing.

Could the crank shaft seal be leaking ? if so about how much ? Just looked it's not the transmission pan but radiator is pushed up against the serpentine belt pulley.

oil pan looks ok to me, but I really don't know how to work on this car. I need help anyone in Alabama that can help call me at 407 810-5570

Because I'm in Alabama doing work on my home here, I can not drive the car back to FL.

In Sawyerville, Al about 7 miles from Greensboro Al I need a lower oil pan it's cracked today I used a come along winch to pull the radiator off the pulley. Now I need to order a used dashboard and air bag, and replace the front windshield how much is the oil pan ?

yup.
( at least the list under that part has a bunch of 3.2 liter engines listed on page 2.
That's the same as yours )

As a matter of fact, the 2004 SLK320 is the R170 platform, same as the Crossfire .

According to the parts manual, there is none. Guess you use RTV ?

Thanks for all the information I have another question do I have to take out the engine or does the lower oil pan just comes right off ?

Ala _ Xfire , it's a small hairline crack on the front of the oil pan had a guy tell me that it could use JB Weld Epoxy Putty sticks ever heard this done before ?

According to the service manual, no.
Just remove the splash pan, drain the oil,
remove the transmission oil cooler line retainer bolts and position the cooler lines aside.
Then remove all the pan bolts and voila !

That's good to hear because I'm going to try to do this job myself.
