CAA#8 (Crossfires Across America #8) Eureka Springs, Arkansas - June 25-30 2017
Take your time but certainly come join us.
You can enjoy this event without the need to go drive everyday.
So much to enjoy around Eureka Springs besides the roads.
Come and relax and have a nice vacation with the rest of us !!
Gary
I KNOW you can do it !
1,071 miles for you, we could meet up on I-20 in Anniston ( 452 miles, almost 1/2 way ) and convoy the rest of the way.
( however, I already have agreed to room with Randy from Brunswick, GA, he too is meeting me here for the drive to ES )
We plan on stopping overnight (Saturday) somewhere around Memphis.
( On long trips like this in a car with no spare, there is safety in numbers )

Dave, we're staying a night on the road each way.

We'll do the same driving from SC. Plan to stay in Paducah, KY on the outbound trip; Cookeville, TN on the return trip. Stops are chosen for the local amenities - lodging availability & nearby restaurants. Leaving Paducah around 8 AM on Sunday gets us into Eureka Springs around 2:15 PM. Still lots of time to do a couple of things that Sunday afternoon.
Both trips I'll do more driving the 1st day so the 2nd day is shorter. That allows some relax time when we get to where we're going. And I typically stop every 2.5 hours for 15 minutes to "stretch the old legs & back". Wife & I aren't nearly as limber as we think we are!
Crossfire is a really great car, but it is a sports car and wouldn't be my preferred choice for driving X-country (if that's all I was doing).

It would be great to finally meet you, and in Eureka Springs to boot !
I second that!
I hope Google keeps up to date, as the OEM nav radio will be no use.

My driving information indicates that's it's around 1,071 miles...approx.16 hours at posted speed limits. I figure if I average around 75 to 85 mph, I should be able cut off approximately 2 hours... this will be continuous driving with required stops for gas, eats and stretching of the legs/back..No problem as long as I have my music close at hand....Carl

Then continue Sunday to ES.
I have not driven for 11 hours strait in 20 years and I'm only 56.
Who had the time to compile all of THAT?
Understand Mark. Heretofore, in 3 instances, I've driven 10, 12, and 13 hours straight.. I feel confident and in shape to do this.. will be 79 St. Patrick's day... wing up...let's go...Carl
Me.
Simply cut and paste to xls, then with google map up just type in the origination with the destination set to Eureka Springs.
Easy peasy japanesy
( Had to make a guess on "Upstate SC" - I chose Rock Hill )
