Anyone want to meet myself ( George ) and randyradio ( Randy ) in Oxford, AL on I-20 at 9 AM Saturday June 24 for a convoy to Eureka Springs ?
We plan to drive to Marion, AR ( @ 310 miles ) and stay overnight at the Hallmarc Inn before completing the drive to ER Sunday June 25. ( about 260 miles ).

Car has been washed, clay barred, polished and waxed, oil changed, transmission fluid changed, conductor plate changed, top sealed with 303 protectant and wheels washed and waxed and inside of car cleaned and vacuumed. We are headed out early Friday morning to meet with a few in Branson, Mo on Saturday and we will see the rest of you on Sunday. Drive careful and we will see you all there!

While we are getting packed up for CAA#8, I thought to remind everyone to BE SURE TO BRING ALONG your FRS Walkie Talkie radio(s) and extra fresh batteries. Those radios are what we use to keep communications within the group while we're on our road trips . . . See you in Eureka Springs!

 

An opportunity has opened up where we can actually make it to CAA8! I can not believe it! Okay, so assuming we decided to go (we have not decided for sure... Have to tie up some loose ends first), how can we make this happen? Is it too late to register?

Oh, and we do not have a spare CPS since we hadn't planned on taking a trip until the Dragon at the earliest! Can we just pull one out of one of the others just in case? Is it bad to pull a CPS for a week?

You will need to see if you can still book a room at the Best Western Hotel in Eureka Spring, Arkansas
When calling, indicate to the desk person that you are with the "Crossfire Group" or "CAA8". and hopefully you can still stay at our group rate of $80 per night
Go to post #1 in this thread for all the details and if ya can book a room your basically all set
Arrive on Sunday June 25th and check out Friday morning June 30th.
No issue pulling a CPS out of one of your other Crossfires if you choose to have a spare.
Hope it all works out for ya and post again here if it does and I'll add ya to the attendance list in Post #2

Unfortunately, business trip to China has been extended thru the weekend. So Roberta & I will have to cancel out on attending this week-long event. We truly are disappointed as this venue was one of our favorites. Our reservation at Best Western was cancelled this evening (China time).

Well, arrival day doesn't look so good, but how about the rest of the week !!!!

 

CAA8 UPDATE: Back in December, it was brought to my attention that CAA8's location was still not decided. I talked to a lot of people and realized the vote seemed to be to go back to Eureka Springs, Arkansas - which we first went to in 2015 for CAA6. So, I talked to some people and within 48 hours, I had a TREMENDOUS team of people all chipping in to make CAA8 happen. A big thanks for your efforts go to: RedDog, Valk, Annette, Peggy and John, Gene, Dan and Sherri.

I have actually taken quite the back seat these past six months, with a new position at work (it's great but overwhelming at times), I've not been able to contribute like I intended. Again, thanks to these wonderful people.

SADLY, I must announce that family issues mean that I cannot make CAA8. I know this will be "One for the books" and those of you who are going will be having a wonderful vacation with some new (and old) friends. I envy every one of you.

ONE LAST THING: Carl Graham is now without anyone to share his room, so if you want to go, or if you are going and want to save some money - please contact myself or him right away.
