3rd Oklahoma GTG Idea
I won't be ablt to buy new tires before then, so I may be a little timid on the turns, but I will be there. I did not realize it was a 3 hour drive from Tulsa. 10:00AM sounds MUCH better.

Are we still planning to meet at the The Kiamichi Kitchen on Hwy 271 North or do we just want to meet at the visitors center at the entrance of the Talimena Drive which is located at the intersection of SH271 & Scenic Highway 1 ? Either is fine
Just got thru getting a room for Saturday night, so we can be there bright and early for Sunday.
The Kitchen or the Center is good for us too, take a vote I guess?
Here's one for the Kitchen.

Smfrycruzr,
Where are you staying on Sat? I wasn't looking forward to driving from OKC to the meet and back in one day so I didn't plan on making it. This is a whole lot more doable.
By the way , we were driving out to Lucky Star on sat. afternoon, through Yukon and pulled up next next to another crossfire on Rt66 by Brahms. I thought it was you. I opened my window, waved and the guy looked at me like I had 4 heads. Oh well I tried.
Obviously it wasn't you.

Well, we won't be able to make it Sun.
A few times the last month or two it's been real hard to turn the key in the ignition. Last night I thought I was going to be stranded, it took 10 min trying before the key turned. Got it to South Point this AM. Just as I thought, needs a new switch. New switch has to be coded to keys and Vin#. Will take a week to get it from Germany. Part=$246.33, labor $250.00. So, car's home, we'll take it for drives and won't turn it off till we're back home. Hope it will have one more "start" left in it when the part gets here.
We've been looking forward to this, hope there will be another GTG soon.

I hear that this has happened on several other cars. Sometimes, when I get in the vehicle and try to turn the key, the key is difficult to turn. The steering wheel lock has pressure against the key cylinder locking mechanism and if I slightly move the steering wheel one way or the other (and hold it) it will relieve the pressure and allow the key to operate smoothly. From those of us that are the second owners, we don't know if the PO was aware of this or not. Just my thoughts...that not relieving the pressure and just turning the key... could be what is causing this failure.

Yes, sometimes that has worked. Doesn't any more.
I do love this car! I just hope she's not like a drop dead gorgeous but corrupt woman, who, in the end will break you and your heart!
Let me know how it goes Sunday.

depending on date we might be in, 29th is the one time that we could do it. Keep us updated, time and place to meet and where people plan to stay sunday night.
Thanks, Derf.

On a side note, did you see a whole bunch of Solstices and Skys a few weeks back for their Kerrville Run?
Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it ot the meet. I was having some performance modifications done to the car to get ready for the dragon, but I still don't have the parts back. (My computer is in Edmond, my intake is in Michigan.)
Looks like participants are dropping like flies...... We said we would go and "we" will be there.
YEA,ROAD TRIP, And they're off, like a herd of turtles. We're heading out, Poteau tonight, and Talihina in the morning. Hope to see you all there!!

For those that couldn't make the trip, my wife took some photos. Sorry if some of these are a little blurry, I was kind of tossing her around on some of these shots (Hehehehe)

Thanks to Terry and his wife, Pam. Maybe we can get more cars next time.
Later, Terry
P.S. there are some more photos in my gallery.
