yes...i apologize for my spelling..i only started speaking english 9 years ago..im better with numbers...lol...i do....im setting up a run to the island...im am very serious...i have a couple friends with shelbys and m3 that want to join...it is meant for crossfires but everyone is welcomed....i don't know when you all can make it, but i will be around SPI until the end of august.....it is very beautiful here..what do you think...i've never set up an event so if anyone has any experience in doing this pm me, and we can exchange numbers, thank you all and happy fathers day...

 

Sounds interesting, we go down that way every winter (Mission, TX). South Padre is a neat place to visit. Maybe some of us north and central Texas cars could go down together.

 

Entropy, your English is much better than a lot of us on here. Unfortuneatly one letter added or left out can change the whole meaning of the word. It will be my pleasure to meet you if you get this firmed up and set a date.

Although I'm an owner from Houston, I have a house in SPI, so let me know if you get this arranged, and I will make sure we are there that weekend. Probably won't have the SRT6 tho' cos I have to transport two dogs, unless someone will loan me a trailer .
Anyway let me know if it gets arranged.

 

thank you gentlemen for your kind words ...i would like to plan this tour/trip for the second weekend of august (06/07/09-06/09/09)...what do you think...if this will not work to work convenience, please let me know I am certain we can work something out....the trip will be from wherever you are in the US, we will meet at the horizons of the Rio Grande Valley(maybe Mcallen) or wherever you choose, and drive to South Padre Island....I welcome all cars, but this is aimed for crossfire owners. I spoke to several of my friends around with an E92 M3 and I'll see if some 911's or M5's will join us for the fun......thank you all again and feel free to let me know if you have any suggestions.

 

The dates are ok with me, sounds like a lot of fun. Once we get a better idea of the number of people interested we can work on a group deal for a hotel.

 

I'm in. (have no idea what a GTG is, though).

I used to live in Port Isabel (across the bridge), and we loved the island (once the crowds left ). We're now in Harlingen, and unfortunately can't spare the time to head out there like we used to.

A potential issue would be Where to Meet. There are not too many decent-sized parking lots within the city limits depending on how many cars actually show up, unless you are looking at the Convention Center.

For those NOT used to southernmost TX weather, FYI, August/September are some of the hottest days with ridiculous humidity.

 

GTG = Get To Gather

And very TRUE the heat and humidity will probably be oppressive.

I've been to South Padre Island and it was very nice.

 

McAllen has a new Civic center with a hugh parking lot if you want to meet in McAllen. It is located at Expressway 83 and Ware road with easy access and a lot of Motels and restaurants close.

 

yes, i am able to meet you at mcallen or further...i am really exited..im making flyers to pass around on crossfire windshield...we are gonna have a blast..if anyone wants a discount on hotel rooms, i can get them a good deal at the holiday inn.

 

It sounds like a fun GTG, I hope it generates some more interest. I'm going to stay on the Island instead of McAllen. So if anyone is interested I can probably get some travel agent rates on a hotel.
