Bluebonnets for the CTC April GTG?


Hopefully I'll remember to bring my April, 2010 issue of Texas Highways to the GTG this Saturday. It has about 22 pages devoted to the serendipity of wildflowers this year in and around Amarillo, Beaumont, Lampasas and Bracketteville.

 

Will the weather be any kind of a factor for meeting on Saturday? Seems like there is a front coming thru Saturday with rain.

 

Those who received an invite are those members and non-members who have not yet responded to this thread. Several of them have signed on to the forum and have read this thread but, evidently are not motivated enough to respond. All are welcome to join us to socialize, show their car, have fun and make friends. There has been sufficient time to plan for this GTG. However, I'm concerned about rain. That was not in the plan.

Saturday: Windy...scattered thunderstorms in the morning, mainly cloudy during the afternoon with a few showers. High 54F. Winds NNW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

 

My Cars are everday drivers (except snow) so a little rain don't make me no never mind.

 

I'm going to have to pull out guys ... on the way to work this morning my front brakes started letting me know " they're getting thin " . I could hear the wear indicators draggin the rotors.

Thin brakes + The Texas Hill Country = Disaster !!!

 

I'm sorry guys. Ive been keeping an eye on the weather and now its 60% chance of rain. If it does rain, I wont be able to make it. My car is an everyday driver too and I dont mind it getting dirty but I always feel unsafe when driving in rainy weather with my car, thats why I always take my husbands truck to work when the weather is bad. Hes got better traction than I do.
However, the forecast may change again (hopefully) and I will be there if the weather turns out to be nice.

Well Mother Nature and a few CTC members says the GTG is canceled. Thundershowers, windy and cold does not equal a fun and safe trip.

Tomorrow: Windy with showers and thundershowers likely. High 58F. Winds NW at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

Darn my Garage Queen is going to set for another month. We could still save this GTG if you guys would like to do the trip next Saturday? Please respond if that is what you would like it to do.

Uh, not I! I'll be there with my Xfire.

 

I'm still planning to attend (only a 500+ miles round trip).
Let me know by tonight what the status is before I go down south.
