To get at the TPMS/HomeLink connector, just remove the dome light and you can see the wires going into it. Remove the connector, use a pick or other fine tipped tool and depress the top of pin 2 so it will slide out. Push the pin back into the connector in the 6th position and reinstall the connector. Reinstall the dome light and you are finished.
Could not get the pin to come out of the connector. Where exactly is the release?

My light is on and I checked the tires and the pressure is fine. The light just went on when I was driving down a major road. This happened once before, and all the sudden was fine again.

Do the sensors (I assume inside the wheels) go bad?

The sensors are battery operted and will cease to function over a period of time. The only option is to replace the sensors and have the new sensos progammed into the computer OR turn off the light as described in these posts

The highlight colors are NOT the wire colors. They are only there to highlight where the pin is from the factory and where its to go to disable the TPMS. The ONLY wire being changed is the grey wire with the yellow stripe (20GY/YL).

Hello Rudy:

I would like to ask you regarding the TPM. I am trying todisable it, I took the doom light out and I saw the white connector. I removedthe connector and found out that it has only 5 fine wires with different colors, there is no 6th slot. I remember you said that the connector has 6slots. Am I looking at the right connector? I could not find another connectorsimilar to it, the only thing there, is a black box which is the garage dooropener. My XF is 04 and it may have different connector than the other models.Do you have any thoughts if I am looking at the right one? If so, shall Idisconnect the second wire colored grey with yellow stripe? Thank you for yourhelp.

The connector you're looking for is a few inches away from the one that actually plugs into the TPMS. It's going to be wrapped with grey foam. That's the one you need to get to.

Good luck and take care

Thank you Rudy, I found it. After disconnect the connector, there is a piece of white plastic cap holding all the lines in. If you removethe plastic cap, the lines will come out without using the pick. I hope thishelps.

After 4 years my little chunk of tape fell off. Finally did the fix. If I can do it then your average idiot could as well. Thanks Rudy.

Did not work for me. Light is still on. What am I missing? Oops ! I was on the wrong connector. I found the one wrapped in foam and made the modification. No more light.

Can someone please post a picture or a drawing as to where this "white connector is located" What are the approximate dimensions of this connector? All i found was a black connector that plugs into the dome light assembly. I found it but a picture would be helpful.
