Trouble starting my '04 limited coupe
Trouble starting my '04 limited coupe
I have a 2004 limited coupe and it's never failed to start up for me. I just got a new battery and last night I went to start it up and the key wouldn't unlock the car. I manually unlocked it and tried to start it and the car turned on, but wouldn't start. The engine wouldn't even try to roll over and when I turn the key to run it makes a whining noise. I replaced the battery on the key and tried the fob reset I saw in a different post here and nothing worked. I tried jumping and got the same result. At this point I can't call AAA because all they're able to do is tow the car. No Chrysler dealerships in my area will even talk to me never mind take a look at the car. Has anyone experienced this or have any idea how to troubleshoot it? I found a dealership an hour away that's willing to look at it with no guarantee of even working on it and I'd rather not pay $200 to tow the car there without even knowing if they can fix it or how exorbitantly they plan to charge me for fixing it (they said it would cost $200 just to look at it without doing any work on it) please help!

Your symptoms sound like an RCM problem.
Send it to tighed1 and have it repaired.

Thanks, I sent him an email. I currently am in possession of a new ignition cylinder, skrim, and ecu... could installing those potentially help? Because the ignition is currently kind of jerry rigged.
