gday guys, I own a mechanical business and I have a customer's crossfire in here with a roof problem, firstly please forgive my arrogance as I usually only work on "normal" Australian cars so this is new to me. the car broke down, seized fuel pump, when this happened the roof was left in the down position. three weeks later I got it going. now the roof wont go up. the trunk divider switch was dodgy so I bypassed it (I know that it's naughty but I literally couldn't get a switch unless ordered from the us). I played around with it for weeks and gave in and took it to the dealer. I asked them to scan the roof module and give me a code if one was present. none were present and they want $2200 just to test the roof, if I had their scan tool I could do it in a few hours but I later found out that they tried to quote out of doing the job. I spoke to the customer and he basically said to me that he isn' paying that and he believes I'm good enough to get to the bottom of it. I really want to impress this guy and more myself and fix this damn roof. it keeps me up at night. I've tested all the limit switche, fuses etc. what I just found was that the trunk latch lock doesn't work when the button is pressed. I'm 26 and I already had grey hair but in the last 6 weeks of having this car at my shop it's getting worse. someone please guide me in the right direction. I think it' a faulty module but I don' want to make that call because parts for this car over here are not cheap. any help would be greatly appreciated. I've searched forums and most of them say the divider switch so I'm a little stuck. I've manually put it up and down to do a cycle. the Windows come down when I unlatch the roof but from then on, nothing. thanks heaps. jake.
