power problem?
power problem?
Hi Everybody
I have an issue with my 05 roadster. When I depress the gas pedal until it hits the button on the bottom of the pedal's travel and let it all the way back to top, depressing the pedal again, it's like it's not working.
Slowly depressing the pedal will result in a very slow up tick in rpm's. Engine will idle and does not die.
Did the throttle reset twice, no joy. If you shut down the car and restart, everything is back to normal until you fully depress throttle until you feel the button depress.
Any idea's? Just started this. Car has been stored since last November. Everything is normal until you do a to the floor gas pedal push.
And what is that button at the bottom of the pedal travel do?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
Fred

Re: power problem?
I'd suspect a bad pedal sensor - the pedal and sensors are part of an assembly I believe, change the whole thing out.
It could be a problem in the ECU but I doubt it. Any Check Engine light? I'd think a bad pedal position sensor would illuminate the CEL, but perhaps not.
My last two have been manuals, life is easier with the manuals as we don't have the kick-down switch.
