Default Leather interior

I'm doing some leather work in the car. My concern is can the door panel centers be covered in leather? Wouldn't that possibly interfere with the air bags?

I think the answer is obvious. I don't know how you could do it and NOT interfere with the system.

There is a "split" line in the current cover that will allow the side airbag to deploy. You don't want to just cover that.

The new upholstery would have to have that same type "split".
