This sounds interesting, I am also looking for an equivalent to what a friend of mine has and its a programmer with software to tune his Firebird. If anyone knows where to buy it can you please let me know.

Thanks,
Allen

Not something I ended-up wanting to do, for a number of reasons... I'm always looking at new stuff though... Got any ideas ?

I've been in contact with him and he said that a complete bolt on kit would be $3,400 and that its 5 to 6 psi.

Perhaps you should test it and give us a report...

Yes I would be very interested to see some actual photos of an installation, and maybe some actual boost numbers while at full throttle.
Does the impeller require some sort of oil line?

Thomas Knight the guy from boosthead. A complete kit that runs on the same belt as the alternator would be around $3,400 according to him and it produces 5 to 6 psi.

I'll be prepared now to be attacked. LOL.

Now all we (we = I) need to do is find a way to get him down to $1,400 and I'm in!

About how many HP is that going to be for the xfire? Is it a universal kit? Yeah, I'm in too for $1,400 or less!

a rough estimate as far as boost power goes; at 1 atm. 14.7 psi is roughly equivalent to doubling the displacement of an N/A engine.
so a 3.2L is 195ci. at 14.7 psi you would have similar power of a 390ci motor but without the torque of a real 390 v-8 hmmm...we keep coming back to the AMX don't we, hahaha.

Hey Dynamics, did you ever find a flywheel? A while back were talking about it and I still want one. Any Help?

i would say a higher quality shift **** that offers more weight as a counter weight would be the best modification available right now... that and plenty practice... i've driven cars with 4 times the power (few 700 hp drag cars) that are easier to shift than my stock Xf...

Haha, yeah I know when I first got mine, I found it really weird to shift.
3 months later I got this thing down, just have to memorize where the revs are at for each gear at all speeds. It takes awhile but you get used to it, now I kinda like the slow throttle, because it allows me to just jab the throttle quickly with my foot and it always seems like it knows what rpm to go too.

Do you have an automatic or a manual? I wouldn't waste my time with a lighter flywheel for city driving, the stock wheel is optimize, now if your road racing thats a different story. You can make some more HP by bolting on the forged SRT rims as long as they are lighter than stock cast pieces. Loosing rotational weight from a flywheel might give you idle problems, but taking weight off the rims is the way to go, roughly for about every 1 lbs. removed from a wheels weight it's like adding 9 hp to the engine. and if your really nuts about shedding weight get some cross drilled rotors, if your worried about cracking the rotors just have the rear rotors drilled, that might shave a **** hairs worth of weight off your driven wheels, but hey every little bit helps! : )

I bought the stern ST1s they are 10 lb lighters then the stock wheels. My car is an automatic and I would like to use it in the city and take it racing too.

except it doesn't fit our motor.

Right it only fits a 3.0 liters and under. Plus it runs off extra batteries that you would have in your trunk. In addition you get a NOS like button to use the supercharger once and a while. In conclusion, I rather buy a bigger Nitrous shot than I currently have then this. By the way to have something like Nitrous why not get the Nitrous? The Crossfire Nitrous NX set up was $700 all said and done! I got 75 HP to the wheels. Just my honest thought.

I just called the guy and he actually has done one o this on a xfire and he got 5 lb of boost and about 75 HP. He offered the kit to me at $1,600 Then I got to get 2 batteries and custom pipes so all parts for $2,200. The labor is 15-20 hours from a competition audio shop at $40 hr = $800. So I am moving this topic to a different thread so we can discuss 75 HP at $3K.
