Default Mercedes SLK350 Transmission Question

Just out of curiosity, does anybody know if Mercedes SLK 350's 6-speed trans. would work in our cars? I mean would it bolt up to the 3.2's bell housing, and does it have the same dimensions?

I believe it will bolt up to the block, as it should be the same bolt pattern. I looked into this for our project car, but the ratios are rather similar, and the swap could get costly. You would have a much better shifting trans, that may hold up to more power though.

What are your thoughts? I may be able to answer some of your questions.

No plans, I was curious because I just read an article about the new SLK350 that said it had a smooth shifting tranny.
I thought it might be a good alternative swap for those SRT owners who were getting tired of things being done for them all the time.
I figure HDDP's computer wizards will eventually crack the Mercedes codes that interfere with everything, when ever you try to mod your car. And when that glorious day happens, We'll all be singing:
"Oh Happy Day"!
