Help!!! Rear End Trouble
About 3 weeks ago my car started making this poping noise in the rear. It usually make this noise when I first take off letting out the clutch or when I put the car in reverse and let out the clutch it starts popping. It sounds like a bearing or somthing in the rear end, maybe even somthing in the suspension. The noise has gotten progressivly worse. So now Im left with taking my wheels off and putting the factory back on, and taking it back to the dealership in hopes that my custom cat back exhaust wont void my warrenty. Anyone have any ideas or heard of anything similar. Thanks for any help!! Oh my car is a 2006 Coupe with 6-spd man. 15k miles. 2nd problem in just a few months. winshield was replaced due to a stress crack that started under the side molding and worked its way up the side. Not a happy camper at this point. I thought mercedes cars were made for quality...or wait is it a mercedes?
I would try and replace the rear pads, and tighten down any visible bolts in the rear end. I don't think you have a bad diff.
eh this car is hell for the first 6 months of ownership, what with fixing stuff and everything. but after you get it running and tuned, you;ll have a big grin on your face in a year after you fix the bugs.

It sounds to me like it's the driveshaft U-joints. My guess is that the driveshaft UJ came unlubed at the factory and now it's worn out prematurely.
That's a warranty fix. Get it done before they $crew you.
