Default Window Stickers without ruining your windows

I used to do this back when I was in graduate school and needed to buy a window-sticker parking pass every year for the 4 years I was there. Notre Dame had these enormous parking stickers I realized that if I wasn't careful, I was going to have the entire left side of my windshield covered before I graduated.

So I thought a bit and did this:

1. Go to a sign shop and ask for Static Cling Clear Vinyl material. It's cheap stuff.
2. Peel the parking sticker and apply it to the non-sticky side of the Static Cling Clear Vinyl.
3. With a scissor, carefully trim around the parking sticker, leaving a half-inch border around the actual sticker. Smaller stickers require larger borders.
4. Peel the window cling and attach firmly to the windshield.

Now you can remove the parking sticker when you're done and never have to worry about removing sticker residue from your car's nice windshield.
