How do I get to the two bolts on t-stat?
I did a search on replaing the thermostat and all I could find was ,it's easy just two bolts. well I see the two bolts and they dont look easy to get to. A pulley is in the way and I cant even find a tensioner to get the belt off to take the pulley off.!!!
I just recently changed out my Thermmostat, but it was on a N/A coupe. So I think there are a few more obstructions in the way for you to remove the stock unit. I did not have to remove the belt or anything, just used a 3'' extension on an 8mm socket and they came right off, of course I don't have a Supercharger in my way
That is a problem I wish I had. But all I did was remove the plastic engine cover and I was able to acces the bolts.
Yeah its all s/c pulleys in the way. So the belt has to come off to take the pulley off but I cant find a tensioner.............
I just did my t-stat on the 6 this afternoon. I removed the two clips and one plug in on the fan assy. and removed it. Then I use my inverted torx E10 to loosen the tensioner and remove the serpentine belt from the idler pulley near the t-stat. I then removed the idler pulley by unbolting the 16mm bolt. Then you have clear access to the two E10 bolts on the thermostat.
