Default Rebuilding wrecked crossfire, need oil pan...cheaper lol

Hey all. i just bought a 04 crossfire with front damage. it's been sitting in a storage yard for a year so i ended up buying it.

blew a rear tire, hit a curb, broke the oil pan, went into a wall, bla bla bla, guy went to jail for dwi or something......thats the story i got from te wrecker/storage place i bought it from. lol

needs front rebar, radiator/core support, hood, right fender, headlights, etc....

both the upper and lower oil pans are cracked. i bought the lower oilpand from the dealer for 140.

but i just noticed the top one was cracked. is there a cheaper place than the dealer that i can get the upper oil pan? it's very expensive at the dealer. they want 400.

i think it has the mercedes e320/clk320/c320 motor? if so can i use the oil pan from those ( it's on ebay alot cheaper)

thank you for any input. good day

oh btw for yall reference.

the chrysler dealers wanted 400 for the upper oilpan

benz dealer wanted 250 for the same oil pan (looked up by part number)

so if yall want parts at a dealer, go to mercedes.

Why do you think nobody has posted to this thread ? Why did you buy a wrecked car that you can't afford parts to repair it ? Sorry buddy, search the forum you'll find the ONLY source to buy Crossfire parts at 20% discount. http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com Ask for Lenny and tell him you are a member of the forum and Derek referred you....

hey, thanks for the link.

it's not about me affording to pay for the part or not, i can go buy that pan for 400 but why spend so much when there's cheaper alternatives of the same part.

i have a dealers account at all dealers because i used to work for a vehicle rebuilder for 4 years. so i get 20% off and tax free. the thing is, 400 is unreasonable for that pan when the benz dealer has the same pan for 250.

so when i first called the chrysler dealer asking for the pan and knowing that after my discount, it's 400, i was just shopping around to see if there is a cheaper alternative. why spend more than you have to....

then when i found out that benz has the same part and when i looked u for a crossfire engine (car-part.com) in my city for an oil pan and couldn't find one but found many e320/mercedes 320 motors, i just went to the junk yard and bought one for 150. (same part numbers on the oil pan)

so i saved 250 on a part. more than half the price. so why pay 400, but with a little research, save more than half....

thanks for the hook up tho

ok so replaced the pan today, the 04 e320 merc one fit prefectly fine. i didn't take out the engine like the service manual said. i have a engine hoist so i just hooke it up to the hook on the top of the engine. unbolted fromt engine mounts and raised it as much as i could. just till the intake pipe touched the firewall. give it plent of room to take out the oil pan.

car started right up after a year, valve ticking for a while but was ok after. i have yet to take it around the block after i get the rims fixed and good tires on them (2 of them blew out). i used the mobile one 0 w40 oil.
