If you use the Eaton SC from the T-bird, they can be had for $100-$400
An SRT is an SRT. An NA is simply that, a lower powered version of the samebody. what ever youdo to the NA, it will never be an SRT.
If you converted a brand new '08 Limited you would have a b*stard and would end up with a car having a lower value than a used SRT. But it would never "be" an SRT.
If you bought an 04 and spent the money on a supercharger kit, and then the pistons and then the drive line and then the suspension..... You would end up paying more than a low milage SRT sells for now. And you wouldn't have an SRT.
If your ego can afford it, waste the money. But for the price, why not just buy an SRT.
'Cause if you did, you would have one. And they are worth it. If you want one, why compromise?

SRT's only come in auto!
Why do SRT owners always ignore this fact. Some people do not like Auto's. This is the fact. Given this information changing the NA over via boost is the only option.

Some comprimise was possible but the manual trannny was a must. Still, wouldn't mind having the SRT power, even with an Auto.
Guys who own 'em say , once you get used to it, you'll be happy to give up the stick.
I .....don't think so.
So if you want a stick, supercharged Exfire, plan to spend money. And as far as I know, you are blazing the trail.
Keep us posted. A lot of us clutch burner die hards wouldn't mind stepping out with the SRT crowd. We'd likely get smoked on the launch but it would be fun to try and keep up.

you guys are so boring. i say go for it. the only reason im sure half of us havent bought an srt is cause manual is fun as hell. and wouldnt a manual "srt" be faster then an auto srt? HMMM idk. go for it. tell me how it goes. i will probably join you if its a success
This kit sounds interesting. Normally forced induction requires a lower compression ratio. I would ask the person selling the kit if they have had any issues with detonation etc. This sounds interesting, and for all the manual lovers out there I agree, I love driving a manual. But the price per performance of the SRT got me. So I will have to get my manual fix with my RX7.

a manual SRT would not be faster than the current SRT. Given all the same specifications except for transmissiong the autostick would win in a straight line drag race. The design and engineering of the autostick transmission is far superior to 99% of all "manual" enthusiast's driving skill. It takes human error out of the equation and replaces it with well defined and executed shift points. The fact that taking an SRT down a 1/4 mile starts by putting it in 1st gear and hit the go button and letting it accelerate through the gears on its own beats out a manual transmission. So if you are a "purist" as some would say then stick with the manual tranny, retractable wing, and N/A engine. Priorities are everything lin life, if they aren't in order then chaos ensues.
My $.02
P.S. I do not consider myself a "purist", but I do not drive an SRT and I do drive a manual, base coupe. Take it for what you will. Research wins out over assumption everytime.
eh i havent found many good auto sticks yet then? because whenever i drive it the car still shifts when ever it wants to and it takes like 5 seconds to shift after i click it. anywho. cold air intake comes in the mail today. WOO :] hopefully i can figure out how to put the darn thing in there.

Unless you have driven the SRT don't assume it isn't any different.
That said, it still isn't a stick.
I can't believe I'm promoting an auto-stick.
(Don't anyone let on to Chi-Town.)

some day you will probably become "roadster with an autostick"

I agree with Tom that this is probably the best and possibly more affordable way to get a manual in the SRT, but the autostick is nice for drag racing from a dig, not so much from a roll

manual trans weighs less than the autostick
gets better milage
and drag racing in a auto is just not fun, i mean a freakin 90 year old lady can hit the gas and hold on to the steering wheel
auto trans lose more hp from motor to wheels than the manual

I also agree with Roaster with a Stick. The autostick in the SRT is a far cry from the other autosticks that I've driven. The Mitsubishi and Toyota models are total crap. This is much different. AMG knows how to make a tranny. I still HATE the lag between when I tell it to shift and when it does. That really smokes me. But it is the BOMB for drag racing. I wouldn't want it for autocross though.
