Default Check Engine Light

I have an 04 base with 58k and the check engine light has been on and off since about 45k. I've had it checked and everytime it is the throttle position sensor. The problem is, I have not been able to find this part and the dealer informed me that they "thought" the tps is built into the throttle body and that entire part would have to be replaced. It does not seem to affect the performance of the car or gas mileage. I do notice some days the pedal has more "play" in it. But it will come on for a couple days, then off for a few. Now, one thing it was doing last winter was this... sometimes when the traction control would kick on, I would lose all power to the wheels afterwards. I could floor it, and it would barely move as if you were not even touching the gas. This happened several times and the only way to clear it was to pull over, shut the engine off and restart. Once it even did it when I passed someone and really gunned it, and the traction didnt kick on at all. But when I let off the gas, I had no power and had to pull over. That was when the check engine light started throwing the tps error. Any thoughts?

Regarding the TPS being built into the throttle body, I think that is correct - it has been discussed on here before.

I did some reading and found the post about cleaning the throttle body. That was on a srt, so I'm not sure it would be the same on the base model. Although I am mechanically inclined, I'm not sure I want to risk a $700 part.
