2004's, Have you changed your battery?
Hmm, I guess I'm going tohave to go to the dealer to get the same looking one. Or maybe I can replace the fluid in this one?
You do know that some people here have said the dealers charge upwards of $200 for the battery? And that's uninstalled. Do it yourself. It's easy. And no, you can't change the fluids in batteries.

And when I bought mine in 05 (it was built in sept 03) the dealer had done nothing to it but change the oil and the one recall... all the 04 Crossfire's on there lot had a black battery (don't know the brand sorry) assumed that's what the OEM ones where. You can kind of see in this pic that my battery was black...
Which recall is that? Mine was in May of 03 so IDK. I think if it was original it would be dead though, this one shows no sign of weakness. This weekend I'll look at the production date of the battery.
There are TWO versions of the Interstate battery. The MTP-91 is slightly shorter, has a black top and higher 700 CCA rating. The other model (MTP-H6)looks just like the factory and has a lower 640CCA rating. The MTP-91 is cheaper than the MTP-H6......hmmmmmm. I just put the MTP-91 in my Aero a week ago.

I've got an 06 coupe (Alabastaaaa) and the white cased battery looks like my OEM.
It also has a small sticker on it that says "made in Spain".
I'm going into my first winter, so the X-fire has been sitting for about three weeks.
Today I tried to start things up and ---- nothing! I've never had a battery go so dead so fast. Not an ounce of juice.
I've also got an old Suzuki bike and I know alot of guys will charge on a trickle charger over the winter. Should I trickle charge or buy an Optima?
My wife an I just love this car!
Should I keep it forever?

might also want to check your alternators, mine has died at 30k miles, and the bearings started growling at 20k miles. could be your not charging anymore.
Mix baking soda with a little water and paint on the corrosion, it brings them back sparkling. I used to use a specially treated felt washer that fitted the post under the cable clamp, this stopped this corrosion. I will look for them as they worked and lasted quite some time. Over time this corrosion will eat the clamp away and make it impossible to clamp on the post securely.
Just an FYI, Sears DOES have a battery for the Crossfire - I put a Diehard in mine last year. It was doing odd things on the old, weak, stock battery; runs perfect now.

Just helpful info for others to reference.
Thanks, Valk
Mine is also white. I am another one that finds the baking soda works really well. I make a paste and smear it on the posts and then rinse it off. I do it whenever I notice corrosion, but so far my posts on my '05 are pretty clean.
No, but it is just over 5 years old so it could go any minute, put in car Nov '03. Looks brand new but maybe it has eaten itself away inside by now .
I have an 04 with original battery, Still cranked at least it did about 3 weeks ago, even if it still cranks I'll be replacing it in spring before it does go.
I started hooking up my battery to a tenderizer, when hooked up it said it had <80% charge but havn't had problems with cranking. Battery is from like May 2003 so its bound to go soon I guess. I'll milk it till the last minute.
