Tips on getting rear muffler hangers back on?
im in the process of putting the axle back back on my car, and ive been dicking around with those 2 stupid little hangers at the back section of the muffler for about an hour
any tips on getting them back on?
getting them off was equally as difficult, so i didnt expect any change here
i would love to beat the engineer that approved that design

put a wire or strong string ,,through the hanger 's rubber when you get the muffler up as far as it can go the have your helper pull the rubber hanger onto the muffler hanger part,
good luck jim

Some people have found that one of the rubber hangers likes to slip off the hanger. I haven't had this problem, but just to be sure I put a heavy duty black zip-tie through both of them and snugged them up to each other.
Just cheap insurance as I did not want to have to deal with them again.

Try lubricating it with oil or wasshing-up liquid.
Regarding the designer that approved it - 99% of the time any design is a MAJOR compromise between function & cost. ALL automotive companies are not out to build cars, they are out there to make profits.

Wurth Rubber Care.....................the BEST spray(with no silicone) to use on any/all rubber pieces.
PS You don't have to remove the muffler to drop out the rear end. I left it in when I did my PG install.

attach the rubbers to the car first, then grab the bottom of the rubber with a pair of plyiers and pull them down and over the tabs, PITA, good luck
