I just ordered a set of ramps that look pretty good on advice from a friend from the Corvette forum. They are designed for low sports cars so cars will not drag going up. The Corvette forum had a discount going with the manufacturer for 15 percent off. I found an OK deal $329 which offered free shipping. I also bought a set of their wheel chocks for $20. I like the two piece design so that you can remove the back portion of tha ramp after you go up if you need the access. They also make them in one piece design for less money. These give you a full 10 inches of lift and are nice and wide. I will follow up after I use them. Might be a possible discount item for our Xfire group. This is the vendor I used:

These work good my dad got a set for his 1992 Vette but we use them for all the cars.

 

I have these for my Crossfire. They work great and are very light weight.

Wow, $329 for ramps is crazy expensive.

I made my own low profile ramps for around $30 and they could hold a house.

I can post up the instructions if anyone is interested, it is super simple to do.

I made a set out of some wood 2X8's and 2X6's that I had (No welding capability). Mine were too narrow and not high enough. Not very good or safe. I would not recommend wood. The two piece design and light weight of the Race Ramps finally sold me on making the purchase. Some day I will learn to weld. More tool buying opportunities!

 

My grandfather (a life-long mechanic) had a set of wood ones that he made himself out of a 2x12 and some nails. He nailed each board to the board below it, making one really thick board. Then stuck it in the band saw and cut a nice slope on it. He even nailed on a 2x2 at the end to help you stop from driving off the things. I don't know where he got the 2x12, but it was probably left over scraps from when he built his garage. Gotta love free. $300+ for a set of ramps is just silly if you ask me.

I saved $300 by making my own ramps and used the $300 on mods for the car lol.

A newbie question about using the Race Ramps:
Have you put your Crossfire up on them rear end first? I am wondering if this will work OK with the drive wheels climbing up the ramps. It will be good to be able to raise either end. Thanks.

 

No issues at all either end. They do not kick out and the length prevents any rubbing. They are only a few pounds a piece and are great to work with.
