Angry '05 ltd coupe keeps shutting down?

Can anyone help me? My 05 coupe will start, but will only run for about 10 minutes and then shut down. It will not start up again right away. I have to wait about 30 minutes and then it will start again, but again will shut down. Can Someone give me a clue what is causing this?

I assume that you do not have any check engine lights, so if not I would assume that you possibly have either a clogged fuel line or filter.. It definitely sounds like a fuel issue with the limited data.

However, you may also have clogged injectors or something that could be a tad more involved.

It is probably not an option to get it to the dealer but when this happens are you going at a pretty good speed?

Have you changed the fuel filter and is your air filter clean?

Three words......

Relay Control Module.

If it's not that it's more than likely the......

Crankshaft Position Sensor.

I agree with apkano on this one.....there is a ton of info on both if you use them as your key search words. Good luck. And please let us know what the outcome is.

thank you for the info. I will try those things and let post what the problem is. I did some research and found that I am not the only one having this problem, it may be something that is common in the 05's. I was also told that it could be the coil pack. that if the coil pack has a hair line crack in it, it will heat up, when it hits a certain temp, it has an automatic engine shut off? does this sound true?

You have many coil packs. Who is providing you with this information?

Wicker, Apkano is absolutely on the right track. Your RCM lives in the electronics box on the passengers side of the car.
The next time this happens try taking the flat of your hand & give the box a decent whack. If it magically starts again then

it's the RCM probably failing.

If it still doesn't start, pop the cover off of the box & reseat all the cards within. Give the connectors attached to the boards a wiggle just to make sure they're seated correctly. If the car starts then

it's the RCM probably failing.
