key fob won't work, alarm goes off - stuck!
Hi guys, same thing happened on me now...
Im new to this forum. And I just bought a 05 SRT6 for a month. This car amazes me well until today.
Several days before, its quite warm here, but today everything frozen.
When I want to get the car in my lot. No response to remote. And I thought it might be the fuse issue of central lock. So i unlock the door in the old school way. It opened, no alarm came on, but car wont start, even no crank at all. no dash light came up. Totally NOTHING!
Then i opened the hood, and checked the fuse box. I pulled out the several fuses to check if they were dead. But nothing wrong with them, so I put them back in the right position. Because i have to work then, so i locked the door using the key. But when i tried to unlock the door after my work, the key stuck in the door. I cannot turn it at all! Now it is impossible for me to open the hood. How can i know if the battery is dead or not? BTW, before the frozen night, it rained heavily all day long, and my car was parking in a outdoor parking lot.
Anybody help out? Any help would be def APPRECIATED!!!

Here is a thread that has some links to what I am talking about:
https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...densation.html
Also, once you are able to get into your car and look under the hood, check the battery. If it is a white Varta, it is the original and needs to be replaced. These cars are very picky about their electronics and a new battery will solve a lot of problems.
Sorry, but I don't have a good solution on how to get into your car at this point. You might have to gain access to the drain plugs for that well and drain the water to expedite the drying process.
Good luck!!

My first thought on this would be that you have water in your trunk area. SRTs are notorious for leaking around the rear spoiler and that water runs down into a well where your locking mechanism is located (in the trunk area). Once you can unlock the doors again, open your rear hatch and lift up the floor carpet and see if there is water on the foam blocks. If there is, you can bet there is water in the well around the locking mechanism. It is pretty hard to just "see" the water since the blocks will be in your way.

At least i know the heavy rain on that day might be the reason. The only thing for me is that i cannot open the door...I really should not have touched the fuse box...
If you haven't seen it already.. there is a video out of opening the door with a Tennis ball.. drill a hole in it..line that hole up on they key slot.. push tennis ball to force air in.. Pop goes that weasel ..!
Ahhww... couldn't you have taken the time to find the one showing the crossfire being opened?
I didn't notice either of them, as I was busy checking out the cutie.
Do you hear a hiss?
Do you hear anything at all?
I dont remember hearing any sounds from that area, But I will have to check.. I just took the RCM out the other night to send it, to one of the guys on here for repair.. So Next week when I get the car back together I will have to dig into it.. Hoping its something easyly fixed.
Nope, I dont hear anything.. I can hear the hatch lock when The car is running and I push the lock button... But when car is off doors are closed, I dont hear anything..Just the Flasher's blink (twice I think)
My siren has been weak for years no on my 04. Yesterday the fob wouldn't open the car. Opened with the key and the alarm lights started. It didn't stop with the fob or inserting the key. When it stopped I started the car but it quickly died. Then it would not turn the starter at all. Saw in another post to remove fuse #9 to disable the domelight, horn and alarm. The light went off, but the horn and the alarm both still worked. Replaced the fob batteries, no help. Had no tools at work so I called a tow truck. He tried to jump it to no avail. At home I found this post and decided to take the 10mm to the negative and disconnected and reconnected the battery. I would not start now since the battery was low. Put on the charger for a few minutes and it started .Drove 38 mi to work where it restarted fine. Did not lock the car. 10 hours later it started and drove home fine. I am going to try replacing the siren next. So glad all of you are there to help figure out these issues. The local dealer quoted $8-900 to replace the SKREEM but it seems the siren is the problem from what I have read here in the forum.
Howdy Folks,
Just wanted to say hello and respond to this thread since i was led here today with the same issue.
I just purchased a 2004 Crossfire 6 months ago. A great car and no problems until today. Went out to take for a spin and neither key would unlock or disable the alarm. Opened door and tried to start and the car shut down. Came home and researched it and was brought to this forum and this thread.
I wanted to give you my fix for what resolved the issue today. Tried the unhooking of battery and that alone did not work. Called my buddy who has excellent car knowledge. He said unhook batter again let sit for 5 minutes. Reconnect (alarm turned on again) and lock and unlock cardoor 3 times. After 3rd unlock the alarm went off and car started right up.
I hope this is able to help someone in the future.

skreem module is in your future. Nothing ever fixes itself. They are smart cars, but not that smart. Check the voltage output on your current battery as well.
